I LOOK AT MYSELF IN MY MIRROR,
i decided to wear denim shorts and a white shirt with a silver zip in the front. i wear my moon necklace and spritz myself with perfume. why am i so nervous about this. johnny probably wanted to just hangout, i'll try that tonight my horomomes don't get the most of me. if johnny ever found out that i had the slightest feelings for him, he would make fun of me for my entire life. but i don't have feelings for him.. i think

my phone buzzes and it means johnny's down.
i quickly grab my side purse and hurry to the elevator. what if my breath smells bad, i quickly grab a piece if gum and throw it in my mouth. what the fuck mackenzie. stop overthinking! it's just johnny, your best friend. what nadia said earlier really put me off.

i spot johnny's car infront of my building waiting for me. he loves his car so much, i mean it's really nice. it's got sketchy lights and it's a really shiny dark grey color.

i open his car door and sit down, i offer him a smile and he returns the gesture. as i buckle my seatbelt i say,

"do you mind telling me what the hell you're going to do to me?"

he pulls out of the spot, eyes glued to the rode infront of him. "i am going to take you on a date"

i laugh "why?"

"i know you're still upset about the whole date with carson, so i'm going to take you on a real date"

i play with my bracelet and say, "just as friends..?"

he looks at me and then back at the road, "yup"

"so where we going gentleman?"

"i'm going to take you to this lake park which has so many ducks everywhere and it's just so peaceful. plus i got us bread to feed them" he sheepishly grins pointing to a bag on the floor of the car

"who knew johnny orlando could be so soft"

"and after we are going to eat, because i know your fat ass can't last an hour without food"

he taps his fingers on his black pants in sync with the beats of the song in the background.

"and by the way, why did you put your favorite perfume on?" he asks

"because i wanted to"

"yeah right, because you want to smell goooooood around me" he says sillily

"shut up johnny"

we arrive at the lake and oh my god, it's so friken beautiful. i quickly get out the car and rush towards the ducks. johnny hands me the bread and we silently feed them. "i kinda want to push you in" john admits

"if you did, then i will hate you more than i do already"

his green eyes widen and he looks at me, "wait you hate me?"

i laugh and throw a piece of bread in the water.

"i was kidding"

"so, you love me?"

i scoff, "the only person i love is myself"

"we've been best friends for a long time... so do you love nadia?" he throws his last piece of bread

"yeah obviously, we are really close"

"so why don't you love me?"

"shut up"

"no tell me" he says as we walk back to his car

"you're annoying" i state

"and?"

"cocky... you're a playboy"

"b-" i cut him off

"but... ew i can't believe i'm saying this to you. you're a nice guy"

"that's it? i'm nice..?"

"oh my god, what do you want me to say! alright fine i admit, you're funny and caring towards me, but you're my GUY best friend so it's weird telling you that i love you"

he looks at me and smirks, "hah... you said i'm funny... you never compliment me"

we get back in his car and he drives us to chick fil A

i tell him about the drama going on between emily and drake

i ask him, "in all seriousness... why did you take me out on a date?"

"well, you just deserve the best guy there is and i want you to know how to be treated. oh and also... i wanted to be your 2nd date"

i roll my eyes and look out the window.

we pull up at the fast food place and walk towards chick fil a. we order of course so much. i pull out my wallet to pay, but johnny stops me

"woah what are you doing?" he asks

"paying..?"

"look, if the guy really cares then he will not let you pay"

he nudges my arm away and hands the lady at the counter his credit card

when we finish eating we make our way to the door and i forget there is a step and i lightly twist my ankle and fall. john of course laughs at me, i laugh aswell.

i get up and putting pressure on my foot hurts so i try to hop. "let me carry you" he says. i scrunch my nose up playfully in disgust "nope"
he ignores what i day and picks me up from behind. "you're so clumsy" he says

"you're so rude"

"i'm sorry i laughed, i couldn't help it"

we reach his car and he lightly puts me down, "are you okay" he asks seriously

"yeah"

the whole ride back was a fit of laughter. he parks his car and walks me back to my dorm,
"you know we practically hugged today" he says randomly

"no we didn't"

"yeah i picked you up which means i wrapped my arms around you and you semi-held on"

i flip him off and he receives a text.
"oh shit.. uh kenz, hayden has some girl over at our place he doesn't want me there, is it okay if i sleep over at yours?"

"of course dumbass"

i unlock the door and walk in, john grabs one of his shirts he left here a while back, and changes into that. i head to the bathroom and change. while changing i think about what johnny did today, i've never seen him so caring.

i walk out and see him sprawled across my bed on his phone.

"thank you for today" i say while cleaning up

"of course"

i shut the lights as he makes room for me and i plop down beside him.

we talk for a while before i say "okay shut up johnny, i want to sleep"

"i really need something to snuggle, but you don't have any extra pillows"

"i don't care" i groan

"please let me cuddle you" he pleads while putting his arms around me. i face my back towards him and say "fine, but only because you payed for dinner"

he pulls me closer and presses his head in the back of my head. we have slept in the same bed together, but never cuddled

"night kenz, i love you" he whispers

i know he only means it as a friendly way

"goodnight... oh and one more thing john... shut up"

i hear his muffled laugh in the back of my neck and it sends shivers down my spine. i shut my eyes and drift into the most comfortable sleep.
