The words repeated in her mind like a mantra, an unending chorus of curses. It was the first time she felt such an emotion, such a raw delusional emotion. It burnt her every core and melted her from the inside. It was dense, impenetrable and so immensely vast. She was suffocating. It was poison.
She shielded her eyes from the darkness. She drew shuddering breaths and hot tears seeped through her fingers. She clutched onto her bare arms wrapping herself in a useless barrier. The words cut deeper than anything. Her teeth tightened into a clench and her grip got tighter and tighter at every word muttered. She hissed in pain at the blood dripping down her skin and the relief of her mind being dragged to the pain instead of the hushed words. Her body shook furiously, she parted her lips. Her lips trembled, "What is this world?"
Don't let the darkness consume you.
"I'm sorry," she quivered,"it's already too late." A single tear, swept down, into the darkness.
With a creak, the door closed shut behind her, trapping her in this cycle forever...
