the person he loves. pt1

There was a man who i once knew,
for me there was no other.
The closer to loving me he grew,
the more he would grow further.

I tried to love him as his friend,
then tried to love him as a lover;
but he never loved me in the end-
his heart was for another.

I watched jeno present his science project to the class. I had no interest in science at all, but i listened because jeno was talking about it. I admired how into it he looked. He didn't look like he was forcing himself to smile during it, he looked genuinely happy to talk about science.

After he was done another student went up and jeno sat down. He looked at me and mouthed, "how did i do?" I put two thumbs up and smiled at him. he smiled back and turned his head to the front of the classroom to focus on the next student.

After class was over, everyone packed their bags and headed out of the school. I was about to head out until jeno stopped me. "nono get out of my way, i have to get home before my mom gets mad." I said sounding annoyed.

"i know but i wanted to ask you something." I looked up at jeno in hopes that maybe he was gonna ask me out. "can you help me ask out Mira? i've liked her for a while but i don't know how to tell her." I frowned but quickly smiled again, not looking at Jeno's face.

"you can give her flowers and ask her out to coffee?" Jeno smiled and hugged me. "that's a good idea! thank you junnie!" He ran out of the room, leaving me alone. "i shouldn't have expected anything in the first place." I huffed and started walking again, wanting to leave the school.

As i was walking home, i saw a figure behind me and turned around to see jaemin. "nana! you scared me!" i said hitting jaemins chest after. "sorry injoon, but that was the point!" Both jaemin and Renjun started walking to renjuns house.

"can i hang out with you? i don't want to go home right now because my parents have guest over." Jaemin said, kicking a few rocks on the sidewalk. "hmm sure i guess, i need to talk to you about some stuff anyways."

When we got to my house, my mom was making some dinner. "oh you're home! Oh hey jaemin!" Jaemin waved and smiled. "we're gonna go to my room for a bit mom, love you!"

We both ran into my room and closed the door, jumping onto my bed afterwards. "So what do you need to talk about?" Jaemin asked looking at renjun. "oh well, it's about jeno." Jaemin frowned but covered it up.

"what about jeno?" Jaemin asked looking at renjun. "he likes mira, and he asked me to help him ask her out! me! why can't he just realize my feelings for him! have i not made it anymore obvious!?" Jaemin hugged renjun and put the smaller lad on his lap.

"i know you really like jeno, but maybe it's just not meant to be, if he were really the one then maybe he would notice your feelings." renjun nodded, but still felt a pain in his heart,

     "what if i bring you on a date?" Jaemin said building enough courage. "a-a date?" Jaemin nodded."sure!" Renjun hugged jaemin, feeling a similar feeling he got when he was with jeno.
