I sigh happily, having gotten to Circle K safely. "Guess we got lucky, huh?" He slightly nudges my shoulder with his, while he smiles. I look at him and softly smile back, nodding "Yep, I guess we did." We walk inside, still hand in hand, and look around at the place. "It's honestly not as much of a disaster as I thought it would be," I smile brightly as I trot over to the candy isle. Young chuckles a bit, "That's adorable."
I look over at him and tilt my head slightly. "It's just kinda cute how your inner kid jumps out when you're around sweets." He walks over to me and boops my nose, making me giggle. He smiles softly and walks away, looking for food and water. I stay there and look at all the sweets. I find a few Hershey bars and lollipops, and put them in my bag. Then, I go over to Young and help him, putting a water bottle or two in my bag.
~Mini Timey Skipy{Ik, I'm stupid.-.}~
Now that we've gotten a few things from Circle K, we went off to explore other places. There's a Walgreens not that far away, so we decided to check that place out because why not. It couldn't hurt to see and explore as many places as we could, before things got reallyyy intense. So, on our way there, we'd make small comments about the things around us while we keep an eye out for any movements or sounds. Once again, we didn't really run into many zombies, and no persons for that matter. Only a few zombies here and there.
Finally, we reach Walgreens. "Geez..." I say as we walk in and look around. "It looks absolutely terrible here," I look over the cashier counter to see a huge pool of blood. I almost gag at the smell and back away. "Lets make this quick, we need to find shelter. We weren't really smart, coming out at night so we should hurry." Young says as he walks away and starts looking through the isles. I do the same, being really wary.
As I walk down one of the isles, I see a kid crouched on the ground with his back toward me. I slowly approach him, "Hey, are you alright?" As I get closer and closer, I see that this kid is far from a normal kid. He swiftly turns around and takes a swipe at me, try to scratch me. I gasp and jump back a bit, but end up stepping on something making me fall backwards. I sit up, shaking terribly as the kid approuches me. Just as the kid's about to jump on me, I scream, clossing my eyes and shooting him multiple times. I drop the gun by my side and hold my head in my hands shaking and crying.
I hear Young rush over, crouching down and immediately hugging me tightly and shushing me calmly, "Shh, it's ok. You're ok bun, everything's ok." He coos sweetly. "Are you hurt?" I shake my head, starting to calm down a bit. "N-No, I'm sorry..." He helps stand me up and kisses my forehead. "Baby, you don't have to apologize," he hugs me tightly again. "I'm just glad you ok." I hug him back, finally gaining my breath again. After a little while we pull away from each other. "W-We should find shelter, it's only gonna get more dangerous from here." I warn, and Young nods in agreement. And with that, we leave to seek out shelter.
That was hell... I thought he was an actual kid, like, human kid. Wow was I so wrong. Hopefully we can find a place to rest easy for tonight. We'll probably stay in for the day tomorrow, then continue on our journey to, god who knows where. I hope everyone alright...
