Wisteria sat at the cafe table, waiting for Autumn to meet her. It was 3:15 and she was on her computer writing a story while she waited for him. She didn't notice that he had sat down in front of her because she was deep in her writing.
"Hey Wisteria." He said as he set 2 croissants in front of him. She jumped and laughed slightly as she saved and closed her work. She shut her computer and smiled at him. "Hey." He slid a croissant over to her and said, "Hope you like croissants." Her smile widened and she took the croissant.
"Thanks. You're pretty nice for a popular kid." She says in a mocking tone. He laughs and says, "You're pretty in general." He grins as she flips her hair and says, "I know."
They finish their food and she orders a to go coffee and says, "Lets go to the park." He smiles and walks and talks about random stuff with her. After a little while it starts to get dark outside and they sit down on a park bench.
It's about to be Winter and I forgot to bring a jacket with me because I didn't think we were gonna be outside much. I shiver slightly and try to hide it from Autumn. It doesn't work and he smirks at me. "Forget to bring a jacket?" He asks me with his stupid smirk.
"Maybe." I say hugging myself to warm myself up. He laughs and drapes his leather jacket around my shoulders and smiles at me. I smile back, "I don't need a jacket Autumn, I'll be fine." I try to give the jacket back but he refuses.
"You need it more than I do, I have a flannel on, I'll be fine." He says as he drapes the jacket back over my shoulders. I take it and yawn as I cover myself in the jacket, absorbing it's warmth.
"Thanks. I appreciate it." I say with a warm smile. I scoot closer to him on the bench and he smiles at me.
"It's getting late. Want me to drive you home?" He asks me, turning his body slightly towards me.
I nod and we stand up to walk to his car, talking the whole way. I live somewhat close to the park and he smiles as he pulls up to my house. "It was nice to hang out and talk with you Wisteria." He gets out of his car and opens the door for me.
"Thanks Autumn, it was fun. I'll be in the music room for lunch again tomorrow if you wanna meet up again and talk or sing." I smile as I step out of the car and hug him. He was caught off guard but he hugged me anyways. I pulled away and handed him his jacket back. "Tonight was fun."
He smiles widely, "Yeah it was. I'll see you at school tomorrow." He waves and when his car pulls away I go inside and see my mom waiting for me in the foyer with her arms crossed and an angry face she only uses when she finds out I got expelled again or when she's drunk and sees something not in her standards.
"Was that your boyfriend?" She asks with a voice that said she was barely drunk but barely had control of her anger.
"No, he's a friend from work who drove me home after I finished a late shift." I said calmly.
"You lying brat! He is your boyfriend. You aren't allowed to have a boyfriend until you don't live under my roof anymore!" She yelled and she lunges at me. I catch her and hold her to where she can't punch or kick me.
I forgot she had use of her elbows and she managed to elbow me as hard as she could multiple times in the same place before I could stop her. I ignored the pain in my ribs and locked her in her room and made sure I had the key and could let her out in the morning when I left for school.
I went to bed early after locking down the house and locking the alcohol in the cabinet and leaving the key in a place my mom wouldn't look. I went to sleep despite the major pain in my rib cage and decided to address that issue tomorrow.
