I wake up abruptly to a phone call. "Hey." I yawn.

"Hey Wisteria." Autumn says.

"What time is it?"

"2:30 in the afternoon. Why?"

"You woke me up, I wanted to see how long I was napping."

"Oh." He laughs. "Well, if you're up to it, can we hang out?"

"Sure, can we do it at my house? I don't wanna leave."

"Sure. Is now okay?"

I nod and remember I'm on the phone. "Sure. I'll see you when you get here."

"See ya then." He hangs up.

I grab another ice pack and put it on my rib cage where they were broken. I sit in the living room and wait for Autumn. He gets to my house around 10 or 15 after we hung up.

"Hey Autumn." I say as I let him in the house.

"Hey Wisty." He says with a smile as he flops down onto the couch.

I laugh and cringe in pain slightly. I sit next to him and say, "Wisty?" I shake my head in disbelief. "Should I call you fall?"

He laughs and says, "Or Pumpkin Spice." He grins.

"I like it. Pumpkin Spice it is." I say with a big smile. "So my friend was surprised when I told her about you. She goes to our school and I'm surprised I didn't see her around."

"What's her name?" He asks genuinely curious.

"Cierra Sanderson. She was my best friend when I used to live here a while ago."

"I know her. She's really cool. Sometimes she's a bit mean but only when someone deserves it." He smiles. "You seem to find the popular kids."

I laugh slightly and feel pain in my ribs. I make a mental note to just grin and not to laugh to much if I can help it.

"Where's your mom?" He asks out of nowhere.

She's at a rehab place while. The CPS worker took her and said that since I already pay for bills I can stay here alone as long as they can check up on me."

"That's great." He says smiling at me.

I nod. "Wanna watch a movie or a show?" I ask trying change the subject.

"Sure. What do you want to watch?" He asks. "What type of stuff do you watch?"

"Anime mostly but I like fantasy and science fiction movies."

"Which anime would you recommend mostly?" He asks me.

"FairyTail or Sword Art Online.  One is about a guild of reckless wizards going on adventures and stuff like that and the other is about a boy who gets stuck in a full dive virtual reality game in year 2020. They're both really good." I explain with a passion in my voice.

"The second one sounds really good. Let's watch that." He says with a goofy grin.

"Awesome." I go on Netflix and put on Sword Art Online and we watch it for a while before I fall asleep.

Memories of the past overwhelm me and start to control my dream where I can usually control them. The pain of everything I've pushed down and tried to forget overwhelms me again and all I can do is cry because I can't do anything about it.

I wake up to Autumn staring at me in fear and concern. "What's wrong Wisteria?" He held me in his arms and was tearing up because I wouldn't say anything.

"Pumpkin Spice?" I ask to make sure he's really there.

"Wisteria? What happened? You feel asleep on me while we were watching TV and you started crying and screaming out of nowhere." He asks me in panicky voice.

"I had a nightmare. It's something that happened in my past." I say shakily as I fidget with my necklace. "I can't keep this from you and have you worry about me anymore." I stop and take a deep and shaky breath.

"Take your time. I don't want you hurting your ribs." He says.

"Okay. So when I was 7 I lived with my mom and dad. They fought all the time because they didn't fit well together at all. One day they were fighting and my dad said he was taking me and leaving. So he had me pack my stuff and we left. He had been drinking and drove way to fast and he swerved into the highway beside a cliff and our car went off the cliff. He managed to stop the car before we got to the lake at the bottom. He went flying out the window and he suffered a fatal blow to the head and was dead within minutes. I stayed in the car but the windshield broke and piece broke on me and cut my stomach open. I almost bled out but the police got me before I could. I was in a coma for 2 years and when I cam back to consciousness my mom was drinking because she lost me and my dad. We moved away from that town and ended up here and after a while she started to blame me for my dad's death. We left because something happened with her job and her drinking got worse. So we went to a different place where I ended up taking care of her before we moved back here a few weeks ago." I tear up as I tell the story and he starts to tear up as well.

"That's so much." He hugs me and says, "I'm here for you always."

I bury my face in his shirt and cry for a while. I look up at him and smile weakly at him. "Thanks for being here. It's good to have someone who actually cares in my life." He smiles down at me and kisses my forehead.

I hug him and fall asleep knowing someone cares about me and knowing I'm not carrying this weight alone anymore.

(Sorry if it got dark, I put a trigger warning before the chapter started)
