Chapter 2

7:21am, Monday

I had been awake for about 30 minutes now, the weather was cool outside and it made getting off the bed a bit difficult, Benson was still fast asleep and I didn't want to wake him up because he had to have slept late, working on his Article and stuff, besides he didn't have Lectures till late in the Afternoon.
On the plus side, Power was restored sometime ago while I was asleep and the fan was rotating on full speed, that seemed to make the room even more cozy.
I reached beside by pillow to get my phone to charge but Benson had plugged it already, and I was fully charged.

"How long has there been light?" I thought to myself as I unplugged it, I checked my messages and Played music as I headed towards the kitchen to do the dishes before I go ready for school.

"Hey man, what time do you have Lectures?" I asked Benson

"Starts 2pm, ends 5pm" Benson replied

"Alright, We go see for house be that now" I responded as I dressed up hurriedly, after washing the dishes I had about 2hours before I had to leave the house, and I started watching YouTube videos and lost track of time and I was going to be late if I didn't hurry up.

Benson was back at the table again, he had woken up about an hour ago, performed his 'Morning Rites' and was back to writing, he had time to kill.

"Ahhdddammmsss!!!" I heard my name being yelled outside, it was definitely Maya's voice.
Even when she yelled she sounded like a 10 year old.

"I'm coming ma!" I responded.

As I ran out of the house with my back pack in my hands, I gave Benson a quick wave and was out the door.

"Sorry, I kept you waiting" I said to Maya as I ran towards where she had been sitting waiting for me close at the gate.

"Is this what you're wearing?" She asked.

It had rained the early ours and the weather was a bit chilly, I was wearing a Loose T-Shirt, Skinny Jeans and an All-stars sneakers, and I had my Baseball hat turned backwards, I always loved dressing casual and in clothes that compliment my Lanky physique, I was skinny alright but not so skinny you'd think I was anorexic.

"Yes, this is what I'm wearing" I replied

"It is Cold as fuck dude" She said

"And you're just gonna wear a T-shirt?" She added

She was all kitted up, Jeans trousers, a hoodie and Yeezy sneakers, she also had a headwarmer on.

"Well, I'm not going to dress up like I'm going Polar bear hunting in the North pole, if that's what you're asking" I teased, Gesturing at her.

"You better shut the fuck up" She responded.

"Plus, you know it will definitely get hot again at noonish" I added

"Uh, gonna track some Polar Bears down while we wait for that to happen" She responded

"Hurry up, we gonna be late" She said, and started walking away

We got a cab and got to the Hall just in time, we sat down at the Mid rows as we always did, to be less conspicuous, As we settled in some of Maya's friends came to join us and Minutes later the lecturer came in and began his lecture.

"Check this video out" Maya's voice took my attention away from the lecturer, who was now rambling on about a story of him during his University days, which was always his thing. Teach for 40 minutes and tell stories for the rest of the time, the lecture was supposed to be for 2 Hours.
