Annie woke up to the sound of her alarm. She left the warm sunshine on her face and smiled. She stretched and got out of her bed. She walked over to the window and opened it feeling the cool breeze on her face.
“ Annie, r u awake yet?” She heard her mom call from downstairs.
“ Yes mom!” She answered back.
She went over to her cupboard and took out her favorite blue and black knee length halter dress. She went to her washroom and changed quickly. She came out her hair wet and then went over to her study table. She flipped through her notes and then packed her bag. She then brushed her name and as they were wet she decided to leave them open. She picked up her bag and then went downstairs.
“ Good Morning Annie!” Her mom greeted her with a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek.
“ Good Morning Mom!” She said smiling.
Mrs. Ryan went to the kitchen and got her a bowl of cereals.
“Here you go… Eat it quickly or you’ll get late for school.” Mrs. Ryan said smiling.
“ Yes mom! Where’s dad?” Annie asked looking around. By this time her dad is already at he table for breakfast reading his newspaper.
“ Oh! Honey… You know him right… Him and his meetings… he’s gone to Pittsburgh for some business meeting.” Mrs. Ryan said and sighed.
“ My busy dad…” Annie replied and sighed too.
Mr. Ryan is one of the top business tycoons of Canada. He’s earned a lot of respect and has a successful business.
“Mom! WHERE THE HELL ARE MY GAGDGETS!?” Came a voice from upstairs.
It was no one else but her elder brother Daniel Ryan. He was a smart guy with a good height of 6’1’feet. He was the captain of the school football team and a lot of girls went haywire seeing him. Every single in the school wanted to date him and well, as u may guess had a major crush on him.
“ Stop shouting at the top of your voice Daniel!” Mrs. Ryan scolded.
“ But where are they?” Daniel asked lowering his voice.
“ They are with me.” Mrs. Ryan said as she got up.
“ But why mom?!” Daniel asked totally shocked and somewhere angry too.
“ ‘Cause your exams are coming up and I don’t want you to be left behind get lower grades because lately I’ve seen you keep yourself busy in all these stupid things while you should be studying for your final exams that are coming up in a month or so.” Mrs. Ryan said with a glare that said now-don’t-argue.
Daniel was intelligent enough to understand it and then stayed quiet.
“ I’ll get your breakfast…Be seated.” Mrs. Ryan said and then went to the kitchen to get a bowl of cereals for Daniel.
“ Here... Eat it quickly and then go off to school and don’t be late.” Mrs. Ryan said as she sat down again.
Annie and Daniel ate their breakfast in silence. After they finished eating they said goodbye to their mum and went off to school.
“ You shouldn’t have talked to mum that way brother.” Annie said as they walked down the street.
“ But it wasn’t fair of her do that… I PROMISED Jess I’ll show her my latest iPod today and now I can’t do that…” Daniel said sounding upset.
Jessica or Jess was Daniel’s Girlfriend. Only Annie knew it . They had kept it a secret from their parents.
“ I understand brother but you know mom very well… She’s just a little protective and wants us to concentrate on our studies.” She said smiling.
“Maybe you are right little sis.” Daniel agreed.
They walked down the rest of the road until they reached Jessica’s house.
Jessica, a tall girl, slim, elegant girl with blonde hair and blue eyes stood there smiling.
“ Hey there!” Daniel greeted her with a hug.
“ Hey…” Jessica said hugging back.
“Hey Annie!” Jessica greeted Annie with a smile.
“Hi!” Annie replied with a grin on her face.
The threesome went to the school with Jessica and Daniel walking in front engaged in their own talking. Annie walked behind with headphones listening to Avril her favorite artist. They walked and after a few minutes reached school.
“ Take care little sis!” Daniel said giving her a half hug.
“You too brother” Annie replied and went to her class. She walked in and sat in her seat.
The bell rang and classes started. Annie only half concentrated on the teacher’s lectures. Half of the time she kept looking out of the window.
During the lunch time she went to the cafeteria and sat at her place and had her lunch. A guy kept staring at her the whole time. Annie wasn’t new to guy’s staring at her. She ignored him and went back to class.
The bell rang for dispersing from school. Annie waited outside for her brother to come. The guy who was staring at her during lunch came walking towards her. He was good looking and smart but she didn’t care.
“ Hello!” He greeted her with a smile on his face.
“ Um…hi...” Annie said ‘cause it was awkward to talk to a unknown guy.
“ I’m Andrew Petrov Miss Ryan” he said and Annie was surprised to hear ‘Miss Ryan’ from his mouth
“So ?” Annie asked.
“Um...This may sound weird to you but… alright I’ll say it …” He took a deep breath and continued “I really like you Annie…Um… Will you please be my girlfriend?” He asked her.
Annie looked at him in utter shock and then she couldn’t resist anymore and slapped him hard.
“What the hell do u think? I’m a girl who’ll meet a guy for the first time and be his girlfriend? R u insane?” Annie said totally frustrated.
“ U slapped me? ME?” Andrew said angrily and then grabbed her hand. “What the hell do you think of yourself?”
“ Leave her alone u bastard!” Annie heard Daniel’s voice from behind.
Daniel stood there with Jessica by his side. Andrew let go off her hand and then faced Daniel. Daniel seemed to be too furious that Andrew backed off. He went quietly from there.
“ Are you alright Annie? “Daniel asked as he approached Annie and hugged her.
“ Yes I’m fine brother… Just slapped him too hard… My hand hurts” Annie joked and laughed
“Come let’s go home” Daniel said.
“Sure.” Jessica and Annie said in unison.
They laughed and walked home talking about how their day went. When they reached Jessica’s house she waved and then kissed Daniel’s cheek. “Bye Annie… Bye Daniel” She said and went in into her house.
Annie and Daniel reached home. Annie wasn’t well, Daniel understood. After whatever happened with that guy had Annie very angry and upset. It had been hard day for Annie.
Annie couldn’t believe she actually slapped a guy. She was upset from whatever he said to her although any other girl would have loved hearing it from a smart guy but Annie was a different type of girl. She didn’t like love and stuff and thought it to be a waste of time. Whatever it might be it has been one of the most upsetting days for her.
