Buzz
I looked at the monitor and saw Martin smiling at me from the camera.
I buzzed him in and chuckled to myself, "Dinner for two?" I asked.
"Make that three! I got a surprise for you.." his words trailed off as he drive in his car to my driveway. Is he drunk?
If he brings Ray with him, I might have to rethink about his visit ever again. She has been distant from me, always been strange to me in school so she don't really deserve my attention anymore. I don't mind a bland conversation instead of no conversation at all. But she always looks like she wanted to die whenever she saw me. And I don't wanna feel like a sore loser who just wanted to talk to her. This isn't why I came back here anyways.
Door came knocking and I buzzed him in again. I looked over and saw her wearing pink strapped heels, a red leather skirt and a furry black jackets. I don't know what else she's put in underneath the jacket. Making my imaginary jaw dropped down like Thomas the Cat jaws, dropping when he sees a beautiful white cat.
Her hair was braided on both sides and from the look on Martin's suits I can already tell they were at an awful fancy party that their parents drag them both to.
Martin came to me and whispered, "I hope this addressed is erased from the grid!" he chuckled and I rolled my eyes.
"What brings you guys here?" I asked mainly to Ray as she keeps looking at me, while awkwardly standing near the couch. Her skirt is too short to sit and I can tell that from her looks, she didn't pick non of those outfits. I should be staring at her like she did to me. Those legs are so flawless, and there's hardly a day when I just wanted to look at a girls' legs.
I walked over to the linen closet near the washer and take a blanket and threw it to her.
"Wrapped with that. Now, what the fuck happened?" I said as I walked back to the kitchen and checked on my food.
Martin came around opening everything that has a door in it and chuckled, "Charity Party. It was so boring like Fuck! Man, I am starving. Feed us some real food." He has never changed. Loud, sloppy and loud.
While I glared at Martin, eating my cereal from the container Ray came to the kitchen and mumbles, "Can I help you with anything," her clear blue eyes came to meet my hazel eyes. For a second I forgot where I was. What is wrong with me?
I never thought that someone I always treated like a delicate doll would be this attractive. I am a little surprised when the first time I saw her, and was in shock when she basically ignored me too. And now she wants to talk and do shit around my kitchen?
"Um...its okay. Just take the plates out. It's in the cabinet under the island. And please Martin, don't scratch them like the last time. Or else this will be once and for all!" I warned him by giving him a long hard stare.
I am collecting so many pieces of collectibles plates and utensils my mom and dad adored so much. He scratch my mom's china when we had a steak last year. I couldn't forget about that.
"What is with you and those plates anyways?" Martin said as he chuckled.
There's always been a thin thread that's between me and my friend here. He had no clue about my past life and he don't seem to care about it either. That's the most thing I respect and admired about him. He never like to interfere in my personal life.
I know Ray knows every bit about it because she was the first person who react to my story noticeably. She seems to have no clue about it but every time her mom drives her for school she would have this different expression in her face.
