The way he spoke, the deepness of his voice and how it boomed with every word. The way he slicked his dreads back and how they just fell back into place. His eyes, those wild, animalistic, light-brown eyes. She's never felt anything like this before, like butterflies fluttering around in her stomach. This feeling was new to her. 𝑾𝒂𝒔  𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒕 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍? "Hello? You alright?" Diana snapped out of her own thoughts and realized she spaced out. Looking down, she sees a small slip of paper with a number written on it. "Is this your number? For what?" She asked rudely, and she mentally slapped herself for sounding so harsh. DaMario only chuckled. "Assuming you were in your own little world, I asked you if you wanted me to come to pick you up tomorrow or if you wanted my mom to come to get you. I gave you my number so that you could call me and let me know beforehand." DaMario re-explained to Diana, making her feel a little dumb. "Uh, my friend Isis is gonna come and drive us there. Which restaurant are we going to?" He pulled out his phone and showed her the name of the place they'll be dining at. "Shogun Steakhouse? Sounds good to me." Putting his phone back, he leaves the payment for the cake on the counter in front of her. "You don't have to dress fancy or anything like that. But at least look decent." He added before picking up the cake and turns around to leave. "I'll see you until then, see ya." Diana waved at him as he started towards the door. "Oh, and one more thing. Don't take this as some sort of date thing, okay? It's just some invite my mom made, so don't take it personally." With that, DaMario exits the bakery and heads back to his moms' place. After he left, Diana felt as if she could breathe normally again. "Shït, what the hell was that?" She nervously asked to no one in particular and leaned against the counter. 'Don't take this as some sort of date thing' she replayed those words in her head over and over. Why would she think it was a date? They literally just met. Taking the money he left, she puts it in the cash register before picking up the number he left behind. "I don't wanna throw this away...nor do I wanna keep it..I don't know.." Diana didn't know what to do with the slip of paper, so she just stuffed it in her back pocket and left it there for the rest of the day. She tells her other co-workers that she was going back home and hung up her apron before waving goodbye to everyone then leaves through the front doors.

After DaMario drops the birthday cake off at his mom's, he makes a trip over to Phoenix's apartment complex to hang out a bit. He was gonna visit him a couple of days ago, but he got caught up with everything else. He makes it to the stairs and effortlessly runs up to the top of them. "Number 214, open up." He called out his apartment number before knocking on his door. He heard some shuffling going on behind the door before the door itself finally opened. There was Phoenix, in a white baggy t-shirt, a pair of basketball shorts and his hair all messy. "What's up fool?" DaMario greeted his best friend with a manly hug. "I see you still wearing that chain I bought you. I feel honored~" he said with a smirk, which made the chocolate-skinned male roll his eyes. Mario's cousin, Ji, was also here and he stood up from the comfortable couch to give his little cuz some dap. "The luncheon's tomorrow, so don't forget. Aye, my mom wants you there too Phoenix." He adds while sitting down next to Ji as he slouched back and played on Phoenix's PS4. "Ooh snap, I forgot you were turning 21. Ew, you're old, get off my couch~" Phoenix teased and threw him a cold one from the fridge. "Pass me one too, I'm thirsty," Ji states while focusing on the game. DaMario, being the nice man he was, gives him his and stands up before wandering into the kitchen to get himself another. "You think of anything you want for your special day? Something affordable I hope." Phoenix says, hinting at him to pick something cheap. "I thought about it real hard, and honestly, I don't think I want anything this year or maybe surprise me." Mario suggested and Phoenix agreed on just surprising him. "Isn't that gang suppose to be giving you a shït ton of stuff like last year? They always giving you too much on your birthday." Ji added in after pausing the game he was playing. "Nah, don't put that on the gang. That's Pinkie, she's the one that spoils me a lot." He says while remembering the time she gave him custom made shoes, new clothes, a new chain, a golden PS4, and three other black ones. He gave one of them to Phoenix. "Only reason why she spoils you is because you're Lee's brother, you're not the only one she spoils, it's the whole family. The ones here and the ones in America." Ji explained as he rubbed his chin. Lee was Damario's older brother that died back in 2016. He was gunned down during a drive-by, same way their dad went out. Only reason DaMario doesn't talk about Lee is that it brings up depressing memories. Well, and also because he wasn't really gone, he could see him every day. Now, when DaMario first told Phoenix and Ji that Lee was a ghost only he could see, they thought he was losing his mind until ghost lee showed them proof that he was thereby making a glass float, which ended in the both of them pissing their pants. Right now, he could see Lee sitting on the couch with Ji and watching him play on the PS4. "That reminds me, I need to call Pinkie and ask her if she wanna come."

Diana and Isis strolled down together to H.Q for any assignments Joseph wanted them to do. They passed others working for him as well and they were all dressed in black. "The boss man says he wanted to see only you today, Diana." Isis explained to her while using a keycard to open up the front doors, Diana walking through first and Isis following right behind her. "I bet it's another solo mission he wants me to do." Diana responded as they both entered an elevator and pressed a button that would send them to the top floor. "Or maybe he wants to ask you on a date~" Isis joked with a cloud of smoke and nudge her side with her elbow. "Ew, don't even joke like that." Diana cringed at the thought of Joseph asking her out. She could tell he has some weird thing for her, and he knew that she knew.  The elevator stops once it reaches the top floor and the doors open. Adjusting their trenches, the two women pace down a long, dim-lit hallway until they reach a door at the very end with two guards in front of it. "I'll be out here waiting for you, okay? Honestly, I don't trust this bastard around you.." Isis hissed out with a stern expression, a new one that Diana's never seen before. Most of the time Isis was playful and laid back, she was never this serious. She fixes her black gloves and eyes the men that were eyeing her up and down. "Excuse me, gentlemen, is Jospeh in there? He needs Diana." The two men look at each other then back at the two women. "Alright, I guess I didn't make myself clear..." removing her sunglasses, she gets up in the man's face and stares him dead in the eyes with the most stone-cold face anyone has ever seen. "Diana Bardot, has business with Joseph W. Clarke, let her in." Clearing their throats, the men step aside and let Diana in through the door and close it behind her. The room was dark and the only light coming in was through the window. A pair of green glowing orbs were visible from across the room, eyes that were catlike and predatory. "Diana, baby~ how are you?" A deep, raspy voice echoed out. "Turn the light on for me, sweetie." Diana flicks on the light and everything was visible now. The walls were a dull blue a few whiteboards were hung. There was a big desk in the center of the room and there Joseph was, standing next to it with his hands shoved in his pockets. His hair was dreaded and had two gold hair clips hanging from some hair he let hang down on the side of his head and his skin was taupe colored. "You already know why I called you in here, your assignment is on the desk." He tells her and moves out of the way so she could pick up the file. Eyeing the papers on the desk, she picks it up and flips through it. Diana was right it was another solo mission, but this time instead of taking down a regular person, He wanted her to take down Hachiman himself. "Are you capable? Because if you aren't I can always ask someone else who is." Metrix whispered in her ear, making her shiver. "No, I can do this job. But I have to ask, why? What does he have that you want?" A smirk appeared on his face before he spoke again. He moves a couple of pictures out of the way and points to one that caught his attention. "This, this is right here is what I want. His sword." Confused, Diana shrugged her shoulders. "What about it? It's a regular old sword to me, what possible worth could it have?" Metrix chuckled, his gold canines showing from underneath his top lip. "That 'regular old sword' use to belong to one of Japan's greatest heroes in history. Legend has it that his essence and power is still within that sword, but ever since that bastard found it, that same power went to his body, basically absorbing the shit. That's why his power is almost godly now.." Diana nodded her head, understanding the situation and why it was her job to bring Hachiman down. There was one thing she didn't understand, however. "So, you expect me to try and bring this guy down, but how exactly? If he has godly powers how the hell am I, a human being with no powers at all, supposed to fight against him?" Chuckling, Metrix places his hands on her lower back and she cringes even harder. "You're gonna have to take my flakko in order to go against him. I know you aren't a pill junkie, but in order to get that sword, you'll have to take them." He reaches in his pocket and takes out a little tube of green glowing pills and sets them down in front of her. "Each pill lasts for 48 hours, so I advise you to take one for now." Squeezing her hips once, he lets go and turns away from her. "That's all for now, Bardot. Don't disappoint me." "Yes sir.." Isis was still outside of the door, keeping the guard's company and reapplying her lipstick. One of the guards kept glancing over at her and she was starting to get annoyed by it. "Fuck you lookin' at scrub?" She hissed, making him quickly look away. The door finally opened again and Diana walked out with a glowing bottle in her hand. "Let's go." She says with a monotone voice and Isis follows without any questions asked.
