'Shit...' Diana thought to herself as she treaded towards Metrix's office. She knew he was gonna be angry once she told him that she failed her mission to kill Hachiman. The pills in her system were beginning to wear off, so if this 'meeting' turned physical, she wouldn't stand a chance. Isis wasn't with her this time neither, so she prayed he wouldn't do anything too brash. The guards weren't as stubborn today and let her pass through. Closing the door behind her, she immediately felt a chill down her spine. Diana looked around the dark room frantically, trying to focus her eyes on him. "Can you explain to me as to why you abandoned your mission, Bardot?" Shit, here we go. "I was called back to H.Q, I was told it was urgent and I-" she was interrupted with a hand slamming against the wall right beside her head, making her jump a bit. "Do not give me those sad ass excuses. You had one job and your priority was getting that fucking job done." Metrix fumed as he gritted his teeth in anger. His eyes were glowing and she knew that was a bad sign. "Listen, if you just give me a second chance, I'll take Hachiman down for sure." Diana tried explaining to him. Chuckling darkly, he rubbed his face and that chuckle soon turned into maniacal laughter. With speed, he reappears in front of her, gripping her neck tightly and flash stepping back over to his desk where he slammed her down onto it. Diana couldn't tell if it was the desk that cracked or her spine. "A second chance? One of my best assassins, skilled, smart...an elite killer..wants a second chance?" His grip on her neck tightens, cutting off her airway. "YOU DON'T GET NO SECOND CHANCE, BITCH!" His veins were starting to glow from how furious he was and he threw her to the ground but not before giving her a hard slap across her delicate face. "Unless you want your little family to continue to breathe the same air as me, I suggest you get your fucking act together, or else I'll have their limbs ripped off to feed to some hungry stray mutts.." His words were like poison coursing through Diana's veins. Squatting down to her level, he grabs a handful of her hair and yanks her up, face to face. "I want Hachiman taken down, I want him dead, and I want that sword.." Metrix's hand was placed on her chest and he slowly trailed it down to her stomach. Right before he could do anything, his door opened and in came someone from the bottom floor holding a stack of papers. "Mr. Clarke I have some...." the man trailed off as he saw what was happening. Standing up straight, he pulls Diana up with him. "Just set them on my desk, I'll look over them later." The man nodded before exiting. "And you, don't fail me again or it's you and your family." Metrix threatened before turning his back to her. "You're dismissed, have a nice day now." Coughing, Diana quickly walks out of his office while rubbing her throat. "Baby D, what's up!" Isis called out as Diana passed by her without saying a word. Confused, she catches up with her before she left the building completely. "Hey, did you hear me?" She turned her around so that she could see her face, and what she saw made her blood boil. Diana's cheek was bright red and she saw bruises on her neck. "I fucking knew it," Isis begins, slowly starting to get livid. "I knew I should've gone with you up to his office. I'm going up there." Isis states, but before she did, Diana gripped her arm. "No, he'll kill you Isis. It's you against him plus everyone else that works here." Diana already knew that Isis was capable of handling almost a whole army, but not Metrix. "I don't give a fuck. If I die, then it's long overdue. I should've been dead from all those wars and battles I was in. I'm still alive, right? I can handle some nappy-headed drug addict." She was fuming, anything Diana said would fly right over her head. Shaking her head, Diana drags Isis outside of the building and holds her up against the walls to keep her from going anywhere. "Isis, I know you're strong and capable, but every hero has an end. If you try to against that man, he will kill you. You'll die for me, I'll die for you, it's all the fucking same. But it's selfish of you to go out like that, especially when I need you here with me." Diana sniffled and tries her best not to cry. She looked way so Isis wouldn't see any tears. "He threatened to go after my family, Isis. If I fail this mission again, I-" Isis grabbed her gently and pulled her into a tight hug, rubbing her back and easing her nerves. She closed her eyes and rested her chin on her head. "I'm sorry, I know you need me and I need you." She says these words softly and continued to rub Diana's back. "But next time, he hurts you like this, I can't make any promises that I won't act on it." With a sigh, Isis places her forehead against hers. Diana was really the only family she had right now, and seeing her like this tore her from the inside. "You're my first priority and your safety means the world to me, Diana." Her words were soothing and it definitely helped her calm down. The only thing that worried her now was what the future would bring.
