The One For Me

Chapter 1

The sun beams hit through the light colored curtains; the light focused on my eyelids. I groan and lifted from my untidy bed. I rubbed my eyes and stretched," today better be better." I got up and stumbled to the bathroom I then turned the shower on.

I button up the last few buttons on my black button up shirt and tucked it into my jeans. I looked in the mirror I looked normal; Lanky, bodied hair, well built, electric blue eyes that shined when light hit them and sharp jawline. I ran my fingers through my brown hair with the faded pink streak near the front. I brushed my teeth and looked in the mirror,"Time for work." I grabbed my keys and my lunch as I went to the door my oak floorboards creaked softly under my covered feet. I turned to look at my diminutive apartment," I have got to upgrade." I locked the door and walked down the stairs.

I grabbed my lunch and turned off my dinky ran down car. I opened my door which squeaks when you open it and I get out. I look up at the poorly made office building and sigh,"This place is not aesthetically pleasing. It's an eyesore to look at." I jogged to the door and opened it; I walked into the crummy office building and clocked in. "Hey, Brennon" Ms.Redwood spoke in a monitored voice. I jumped slightly and turned dragging out my greeting,"Ms.Redwood, hi...." She turned on her heels and walked away and I let out a sigh of relief,"that women I swear." I jump,"GOSH, JOSH! Stop that! Your trying to give me a heart attack." "Sorry Bren,"Josh laughed. I chuckled and shook my head,"see you later Josh." "See ya Brennon,"Josh said and stuffed the rest of his chocolate covered donut into his mouth. I walked to my itty-bitty cubicle."Hey brennon~"Harley spoke in a flirty way. I cleared my throat slightly,"Hello, Harley. I'll talk to you later Harley." "Bye Bren~"she waved her hand in a flirty manor. I quickly walked to my cubicle and sat down ignoring everyone around me and started to work.
*Four hours later*
"I'm not hungry so I'm not taking my lunch"I said stretching,"A jog around won't hurt." I got up and started to jog around the puny office building,"gotta keep in shape eh" Malina asked with a slight smile. "Ya, I guess" I blushed slightly and looked away scratching my neck. Malina giggled. I swear this woman. I blushed darker,"Bye Mal." "Bye Brennon. Have a good rest of the day"Malina smiled. "I will. Have a good rest of your day!" I quickly turned and jogged back to my cubicle and started to work. Not long after I noticed Harley staring at me; that women is starting to scare me. I rolled my wrist and started typing again.
*six hours later*
I am finally free to go home! I leap from my seat with excitement. I grabbed my stuff and jogged out to my ran down car and hopped in. Malina knocked on my window as I sat my stuff down. I turn and smiled and rolled down my window," hey I was wondering.. Would you like to go out and grab a bite to eat with me next weekend?" I nodded,"sure I won't mind. Foods on me" I flashed a quick smile at her. "Great see you then" She smiled and skipped off.  I rolled my window back up and drove home. When I got up to my apartment door I saw something curled up under my chair with a note: Take care of him. A looked under as a black Great Dane crawled out. I sat down and let him sniff me. He laid down in front of me, beside him was a leash and a collar. I looked at the collar he had no name,"I'll name you.. Shadow." Shadows tail wagged hitting against the concrete. I smiled and grabbed the leash and started down the stairs Shadow followed.

I walked into PetSmart and bought him a nametag, food, water and food bowl, toys and a bed. I carried it all with me aswell has holding Shadows leash. I open the backdoor and set all the stuff in it and said,"get in there shadow." Shadow leaped into the back and I shut the door after taking the leash off of him. I got in and started driving home.

I let Shadow roam around the tiny apartment as I cleaned up. After I finished cleaning I set all of his stuff up and put water in his water bowl and food into his food bowl. I went and started to cook myself some dinner; I look at the clock 6:10. I finished cooking and started to eat. I got bored and turned on the TV. Not long after putting everything away I plopped onto the couch and Shadow hopped up and curled up on top of me. I slowly drifted off into sleep.
