"We're home!" Joe cheered, catching Dianne's eye as he kicked his shoes off.
"Such a bloke..." she muttered and rolled her eyes. "Your daddy's silly baby girl!" Unfastening Annie from her pram, Dianne lifted up her baby girl and held her high, just above her face. "He's very silly." Dianne pressed a kiss to Annie's mouth quickly before bringing her back down and resting her on her hip.
"Do I get a kiss?" Joe pouted.
Dianne winked. "Maybe later.""Joey?" Dianne called from the sofa where she was feeding Annie.
"Yes?"
"Could you get me some water?" She asked, fluttering her eyes as she spoke.
Joe sighed. "I will... if I get a kiss."
"I'll have to think about," she teased. Pouting once more, Joe walked back into the kitchen and got Dianne a cup of water, taking it back into her and holding it just out of reach from her.
"I'll give it to you," he said, "if I get a kiss."
"Fineee." Joe handed Dianne the glass and leant down slightly, pouting his lips. Dianne pecked them lightly and took a sip of water.
"Thank you.""I'll see you in the morning princess," Joe whispered as he backed out of the nursery. "Now, wife time," he muttered to himself. "Finally." He walked back into their bedroom to see Dianne sat up on the bed, tucked up as though she was going to go to sleep. Feeling slightly... upset, Joe climbed into bed and reached under the covers to find her hand, holding it in his and stroking over her soft skin.
"I had a really good honeymoon," Dianne smiled, "it was really special, especially with you by my side."
"I had the best time," Joe said shyly, nodding his head, "And I've wanted to do this since we got married." Moving over to Dianne, Joe brushed his lips against Dianne's teasingly, waiting for her to give in. She did- quickly. Her hands found the back his neck as their lips moved together, dancing as they had done so many times before, but this time felt special. They were married, bound together for life and both were very excited about it. Like the night before, Joe's hand found the waistband of Dianne's shorts but he hesitated slightly, unsure of what she was going to do. Rolling onto her back, Dianne let Joe take the lead and watched him move with a smile on his face. Joe went to reach for the draw in his bedside table but Dianne stopped him. A mutual agreement passed through their eyes that they both wanted another baby and now was the time. With a smile, Joe sat back and pulled the shorts from Dianne's body, and then his own. Attaching his lips to the skin on Dianne's neck, Joe listened for the soft moans coming from his wife's mouth.
"Go on," She half moaned/mumbled, "Please."•••
"Amy, how ya doing?" Dianne pulled the brunette in for a hug, smiling widely. "It's been too long."
"Hasn't it just. Almost six weeks I think it's been?"
"Time flies," Dianne nodded before pushing open the door to the cafe and, after letting Amy go through, walked in and went up to the counter to order. They paid for their things and found a small table for two in the corner. Conversation flowed easily; they hadn't seen each other since the wedding and Amy wanted to know everything."I'm very impressed," Amy said when their things were brought over to them, "you didn't get a coffee."
Dianne smiled. "The thought of caffeine's making me feel weird," she said with a shudder, "I've gone right off it."
"That's not like you," Amy said, a confused look on her face. "You usually love a good coffee."
Shaking her head, Dianne shrugged. "I don't get it either.""We're back!" Dianne called as she pushed open the front door, kicked her shoes off and lead Amy into the kitchen. Minutes later, Joe came into the kitchen with a giggling baby bouncing in his arms.
"Hi, Annie's just woken up." He walked over to Dianne and pecked her lips.
"I didn't wake her up did I?" Dianne asked, taking Annie from him.
"I don't think so. Hi Amy!" Joe turned and hugged Amy. "Long time no see."
"Hiya," Amy laughed. "Well then," she said, sitting down at the bar stools in front of the couple and their baby, "How's married life?"Half an hour later, Annie started to cry, reaching for her mum from Amy's knee.
"She'll want a feed," Dianne said.
"Are you still breast-feeding?" Amy asked.
"I do at night, but in the day I don't. It's easier to just use formula," Dianne explained as she walked over to the fridge and got a bottle out. "Joe could you-" She started but stopped. Joe had already turned the hot tap on so it could get to its hottest point before Dianne held the bottle under it. "Thanks." Holding the bottle under the running water, Dianne turned back to Amy and Joe and carried on the conversation."Bye, we'll arrange to meet at some point soon," Dianne said, hugging Amy goodbye.
"Definitely," she nodded, "Bye Annie." Annie, tired and grumpy, turned into Dianne's chest and started to fall asleep.
"I'm gonna take grumpy here up and put her down for a nap."
Amy nodded. "Go on then." Dianne smiled and turned around, walking up the stairs and disappearing behind a door.
"Bye," Joe said, hugging Amy.
"Make Di take a pregnancy test," Amy whispered when her mouth was by Joe's ear.
Joe pulled away immediately, "Why?"
"Because she's gone off caffeine..." A knowing and excited smile spread across Joe's face and he nodded.
"I will, thank you."
"Just let me know." Amy smiled and opened the door. "See ya!" The door closed behind her but Joe didn't move; he was rooted to the spot, blood pounding in his ears. Could she be pregnant again?! A boyish excitement over took him and he found himself running up the stairs, the dad in him being as quite as possible in case Annie was asleep. He reached the landing just as Dianne came out of the nursery, a confused and bewildered look on her face.
"Are you okay?" She asked, "You're... panting."
"You've gone off caffeine," he breathed, "when did you go off caffeine?"
Dianne shrugged. "A couple of days ago, why? I'm missing something aren't I?"
"Yes," he said, nodding quickly, "You never go off caffeine. In the whole time I've known you, the only time you went off coffee was when you were p-"
"Pregnant with Annie," Dianne finished, understanding dawning on her face as she gasped. "Oh my god."
"Have you got a test?" Joe asked breathlessly.
"I think so, we'll go do it.""Oh my god," she breathed, staring at the stick in her shaking hands. "We're having another baby!" Joe's lips graced against her forehead for the third time.
"Wow," he whispered. "I can't wait."
"We're calling it Americas, or Americano if it's a boy," Dianne said immediately.
"Sorry what?!" Joe spluttered. "We are not!"
"Why not, you arsehole. Annie and Americas sounds good."
"I'm not letting you name our kid Americas or Americano. You can forget it."
"Meanie. It's a good job I love you or else."
"Or else what?" Joe teased.
"I don't know, I haven't got that far yet."
Joe laughed and shook his head. "I love you, you weirdo."
Dianne turned her head and pecked Joe's lips. "I love you too."And that's all that mattered.
The end.
