yaoiChibi interview

10.16.14

Rin: Are you ready?

yaoiChibi: Ready. Fire away.

Rin: Please introduce yourself.

yaoiChibi: Alrighty. So, hi there. I am the enigma known as yaoiChibi. I strictly write homoerotica stories that are desperately connected to male pregnancy.

Rin: Why homoerotica? Why male pregnancy? Both topics seem rather difficult in their own rights.

yaoiChibi: Ugh. Tell me about it. I must've been drugged when I started writing. LOL.

Seriously though, I started writing homoerotica due to the fact that I was starting to get irritated with fanfictions that never lived up to the hype. You see, I'm a HUGE NaruSasu fan and I roam the internet's figurative seas in search for a good story with that particular pair. However, out of thousands that I saw, I only managed to enjoy less than a 100 and most of them didn't even have good smut to begin with. Being the huge perv that I am, I thought 'If I want detailed sex, then I should just do it myself'. And homosexual love is so interesting because of the complexity loving the same gender entails.

As for why male pregnancy, it's because I strongly believe that couples who love each other - whether they be gay or straight - deserve equality. If straight couples in fiction stories can have kids, why can't there be gay ones? And, besides, I'm pretty sure the child in the story would be appreciated more if they came from an unlikely couple.

Rin: You present a very good point about the equality thing. I like it. (:

With that though, do you try to input any scientific reasoning for why males can have babies? (Sorry; I'm just a huge nerd and want to know of the biological reasoning for this.)

yaoiChibi: Oh, it's fine. I like science too, but Math is my baby. Sometimes, I do. But, most of the time, I don't. I usually just lay out the fact that they live in an alternate universe where our biology and human anatomy laws do not prevail.

Rin: Respectable.

Getting to more specific details now, there was a HUGE tonal difference between How I Fell In Love and 30 Reasons Why I Love You. How? Why? I mean, I was absolutely shocked when I started reading 30 Reasons Why I Love You because of the huge difference.

yaoiChibi: Well, I guess it's because instead of the Rei's POV, I chose to do 30RWILY in his partner's eyes. And considering that Rei is just the usual run-of-the-mill boy-next-door guy, he doesn't have any major life-turning events that constituted to his behavior. His partner, on the other hand, has a different story. You can't possibly have a sexy, rich, and smart man fall in love with an ordinary man without a dramatic back story.

Rin: Yeah... The stalker part was pretty intense. I was pretty scared for the babies. (^o^)>

Why thirty? How did you come up with thirty reasons? Do you believe that there's a finite number of reasons to love a person?

yaoiChibi: You have no idea how much I enjoyed torturing my readers with heart-wrenching twists like that. LOL. I'm a natural sadist at heart.

Honestly there was no real reason behind the 30 thing. 30RWHILY was supposed to be written as fluff drabbles until my sadistic side told me I needed to do something or I would lose my inspiration to write. I came up with 30 reasons by searching the internet for forums that showed reasons why they lived their spouses. But, most of them came from my delusions. As for your last question, I believe there isn't a finite number. But there is always one reason that draws you to a person from the start. It could be as simple as the color of their eyes, shape of the lips, or even the way they smile.

Rin: Oh! One thing I found particularly amusing. You were bashing your own story in Loving A Liar. I think it was hate against How I Fell In Love. (I didn't specifically note the book; sorry.) But why did you do that? I've had various instances of mentioning my own stories in other stories, but never hated on them. Hahaha.

yaoiChibi: Did I seriously bash my stories? I gotta check that out.

Honestly, I'm a hardcore perfectionist. And because of that, I have a tendency to hate on works of mine that don't seem to live up to the hype I want them to live. I can't really remember expressing total hatred for one of my stories because they're all my babies, I worked hard for them. But I guess I was just disappointed.

Hahaha. Now I seriously have to check that A/N that did the bashing.

Rin: It wasn't an author's note interestingly enough. It was actually in the story. Let me see if I can find it real quick.

yaoiChibi: Okay. ^_^

I found it already. And no, it wasn't bashing. It was supposed to be a leeway to point out that I had other works aside from the one they were reading. Besides, it wasn't my POV. It was the character's.

You can call it advertising my stories, if you'd like. ^_^

Rin: Ah, I see, I see. That makes sense then~

In the description for A Walk in yaoiChibi's Mind, you mention that "everyone deserves a happy ending." Why is that? And what is happiness to you?

yaoiChibi: I grew up as a Disney princess, fairytale-come-true kind of girl. And in those movies, the lead always, ALWAYS ends up in their happily ever after despite what they've been through. And so, as I started writing stories, I thought that those ostracized in our society deserves to be happy.

Happiness for me is a state of mind. I'm a Filipino and in our culture, no matter what you face, we never fail to find a way to smile. A small child dancing, a man singing horribly, or a joke so funny it ends up with milk out of my nose is enough to make the problems go away. Even for a little while.

Rin: I like that philosophy. c:

So was it this mindset that has encouraged you to write Healing A Narcissist's Broken Heart?

yaoiChibi: Yes. Eric is a good guy who happened to end up falling in love with a guy that loved another. It's cruel but that's how love works. And I'm seriously glad he met Jordan. ^_^

Rin: Alright, just a few more questions from the interview requester. Said requester would like to know where you get your ideas for stories and what inspires you to write.

yaoiChibi: Most of my ideas come from my hyperactive imagination. No research, no real life experiences. Everything was just conjured up in my head and my fingers do the typing. My inspiration, on the other hand, is a very different story. Usually, what inspires me is boredom. When I catch myself doing nothing and my mind is totally blank, my senses pick up words or sceneries I see around me and my imagination kicks in. I could look at an ant carrying a bread crumb and think of a plot of angels and demons flying around, trying to fight the poor ant. It's weird, I know. But, yeah, I never said I was a normal author to begin with. ^_^

Rin: I don't think any author is normal. Lol.

yaoiChibi: Hahaha. Agreed.

Rin: Well, thank you very much for your time! Would you like to say anything to your fans before officially closing this interview session?

yaoiChibi: Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity. Whoever you are that requested me to be interviewed, you have successfully made my day by making me feel important and amazing. And to all of those that read my stories, I hope that you all enjoy your time and also take pity on this sad, little author by not demanding updates. LOL.

That's it. Thank you so much for your time, sweetheart!

And there it is! Thank you Lilly_B_L for requesting that I do this interview. I had a blast reading her stories to set up for the interview and actually talking to her was amazing.

As always, remember to go check her out. Her link is in the dedication and off to the side. If you have an LGBT author that you would like interviewed, let me know and I will try to accomplish it as soon as possible.
