Beginning of The End

"Why now? Because, they're dying."

Joon looked at me with the most confused face anyway could ever make. "What do you mean, they're dying?" I wanted to cry, knowing that I was losing my only friends that I'd ever had, knowing that I was ignoring them, and treating them poorly.

"I, don't know, exactly. But I think it has something to do with us." I had no idea how to explain it to him, because he couldn't see them, he wasn't experiencing it. And he definitely wasn't as close as I was to them.

The rain stopped. We both looked out at the wet grass. It was pretty. But then, Joon focused back on me. "Us? You mean like, since we're friends, and they were your only friends it's like they're leaving now that you have friends?"

Hm. Sorta, but not really. I was leaving them. "Um, it's more like the feelings..." I stopped. Why are you stopping idiot?! I sighed and took a deep breath. "The more my feelings grow towards you the more they fade because I'm ignoring them."

He gasped. "So it's like you're replacing them?" Yes, exactly. He wrapped his arm around me and looked out amongst the grass. "Alex, I know I'm not going through what you are, and I have absolutely no idea what's going on in your head right now." He paused.

Please don't say you're leaving. He looked back at me. "But I know for a fact, that I will not let you do this on your own." My heart thumped and I saw the shadow man go from black, to the lightest grey in seconds. My eyes started watering as Joon looked to the shadow man.

It's happening, and it's too late now to stop it. I didn't know what to do or what to think. I was lost. But when I looked into Joon's eyes, I felt as if I he was leading me to where I needed to be.

Joon brought his hand to the side of my head and came closer. "It'll be ok." Was he just doing this to mess with me or just because I was about to cry again?

He leaned in and kissed me. "Alex. I really like you. And I will do everything I can to make sure you're ok."
