He leaned in and kissed me. "Alex. I really like you. And I will do everything I can to make sure you're ok."
I had to make the most of my time with them, but I didn't know how. We went home, my hallucinations following, and I went to my room leaving Joon and the other boys in the living room.
Laying in bed, covering up, I watched as all my hallucinations, even some new ones, get in bed next to me and cry. Even Aiden. He was the closest one to me.
"I'm gonna miss you guys." I had nothing to say. No apology, no nothing. "I'll miss you the most." I looked down at Aiden who was in tears. He hadn't spoken in a very long time, but grabbed my hand and laid his head on my shoulder.
I started crying, and as soon as I did, Jungkook walked in. "Alex?" I laid there, holding Aiden's hand, and looked up at Jungkook. "Yes?" He looked down at my hand, just as I squeezed Aiden's.
"Do you want me to come back? I can give you some time." He knew. How did he know? "Thank you." I sniffled. As Jungkook left, I looked back at Aiden. He was staring at the wall. "Do you have to leave?" I asked, watching him slowly shut his eyes.
"I'm not sure." The other hallucinations were curled up next to us, but were sleeping. He continued. "I'm sorry. I've been wasting our time together, and now, our time is out."
I thought about it for a little bit. "Then let's spend this together. Sleep with me, Aiden. Just until our time is truly out." He nodded and cuddled closer to me. He may not have been a real person, or real at all, but for a split second, it felt real.
It felt as if, all my fears, all my tears, were gone. I felt like I wasn't alone anymore, and that I hadn't disappointed my hallucinations. It was nice, being able to hold Aiden's hand for the first, but also last time, before he completely left me.
"Aiden?" I asked, hoping he was still awake. "Yes?" He was. What was I going to say? That I missed him? You already did stupid! Tell him you love him!! "Aiden, I love you." I sighed. Was it a bad thing, that I loved him? No.
"I... I've always loved you." Was all he said before he fell asleep in my arms for the first, but also last time. When I woke up later that day, they were gone.
