Chapter 5-Moments We Cherish

Chris birthday was coming up and I was throwing my baby a big ass surprised party my baby has been such a great husband and father I felt like he deserved an celebration in his honor

The day before his birthday I thought I have a talk with Rico

Im sick of this one sided beef its time for family to be family

Me and Shantel were sitting at the kitchen table

"Man Lobster mac and cheese 40z Ribeye steak mashed potatos and gravy sweet honey cornbread lemon garlic parmesan asparagus ,fried jumbo shrimp, homemade vanilla ice cream and peach cobbler"Shantel said reading the menu for Chris birthday bash

"Too much?"I asked

"I mean nah hes your King right"Shantel said

I smiled "Yeah so bring ya appetite and dancing shoes cause bitch we finna party"

"I was thinking about bringing Jason to the party"She said

Rico said "You not bringing that nigga around my son is gonna to be at that party and I already told you not bring no niggas around Carter"

"You can't tell me what to do you not my daddy you get on my nerves thinking you ruining something you don't run me"Shantel said

"Bitch you not bringing no nigga around my kid I don't care about none of that shit you talking you not about you not finna disrespect me or my son"Rico said

"You got some nerve talking about disrespect Ive been disrespect so many times by you so many times that I actually think Im immune to it"She said

She stood up and said "I gotta go pick up Carter from my sister house" 

"Okay I'll call you later"I said

"Yeah fuck outta here with that bullshit"Rico said

She stuck her middle finger

"You already did me and my nigga hoe"Rico said

She rolled her eyes and walked out

I stood up and folded my arms and said "You calling her hoes and bitches as if she isn't the mother of your son"

"fuck that bitch"Rico said

"Rico its been too long stop with the beef Shantel made a terrible mistake how long you gon hate her She's has been more than a good mother to Carter and A friend to me her and Chris are human let the bull shit go"I said

"Adrianna Im not you you cross me once its fuck you forever"Rico said

"Hes your family whether you like it or not hes the only family you got and you can't lie and said he haven't change"I said

and he just looked at me

Later on that day after Rico left I went up stairs and Chris was laying in the bed reading his birthday menu

He smiled at me and said "You suck at throwing surprise parties"

"Chris what are you doing with that you just ruined all my hard work "I said 

He laughed and said "Aww baby my bad look I'll still act surprised just for you"

I smiled and said "Promise"

"I promise beautiful"He said smiling at me"

I got in bed with him and laid my head on his Chest and said "Im proud of you"

"I watched grow into this incredible man you fought your demons and overcame everything that came your way baby I see you and I see all that you are and all that you will be"I said
