It's been 7 years since I moved to America with my mum, after she and my dad got divorced. I tried to enjoy my new life without my dad, but it hurts when I just learnt that he cheated on her with another woman 7 years ago.

I felt anger and betrayed as my own father left my mom for someone else. Every year, I received a letter from my dad, but I refuse to open them. I kept every single letter in a box, rather than burn them.

One night, I was sleeping and got a call from a hospital that my mom was involved in a serious car accident. I quickly got to the hospital and learn from the doctors that my mom on life support and cannot breathe on her own again.

The doctors asked me for permission to turn off her life support machine, but I refuse, as I want my mom to live, but seeing that she'll never wake up again, I allowed the doctors to turn off her life support.

"Goodbye Mom, I love you.", I whispered as tears come out of my eyes. Then the doctors, turned off her life support and she was gone. My grandparents took me in and we had my mom buried.

However, my grandparents decided that it's best for me to move back to Dublin and live with Dad. "Abigail, sweetheart. Your grandfather and I have been talking to your father and we all decided that it's best if you move back to Dublin and live with your dad.", my grandmother replied.

I was stunned by her words and I lost my temper. "No, no way! I'm not coming back there and see his face again!", I yelled. "Abigail, your parents agreed that if anything happens to one of them, you live with the other.", my grandmother yelled.

"I don't want anything to do with my dad, not what he did to Mom!", I yelled. "Abigail, I know you're angry at what your father did to your mother.", my grandmother replied. "No, I'm not angry, Nana. I'm furious!", I yelled.

"Abigail, you are acting like a spoiled brat right now! You're going back to Ireland and living with her father, whether you like or not! I already bought you a one-way ticket to Dublin and go back your bags because your flight is tomorrow morning!", my grandmother replied.

I let out an ear-piercing scream and slams my bedroom door. I start crying as I pack my bags, and looked at an old photo frame of me as a little girl with my parents.

The next day, my grandparents drove me to the airport and said their goodbyes to me as I was about to leave America for good. "Fly safely and call us.", my grandmother replied.

"I will, Nan.", I replied. "We're going to miss you, sweetheart.", my grandmother cried, as she hugged me. "I'm going to miss you too.", I sighed, as I hugged her and my grandfather. "Look after yourself, and stay out of trouble!", my grandfather replied.

"Yes, Pop.", I sighed. "Ok, off you go.", my grandmother sighed. I then grab by guitar case and head off, waving my grandparents goodbye as I got up on the escalator and aboard on my plane. I sighed as the plane takes off to Dublin.

After a 7 hour flight, I landed in Dublin and it was strange to be back here after all those years. I grabbed my bags and took a taxi to my old home. Meanwhile, my dad was outside the mansion, waiting for me to arrive.

As the taxi cab arrives to the driveway, I was nervous and shaking and saw my dad, outside the house, waiting for me. "There he is.", I sighed to myself. Then the taxi cab stopped and the driver comes out to grab my bag and guitar case.

He then opens the door and I came out, and saw Dad standing there with a smile. "Hey, Apple! Welcome home, sweetheart.", Dad replied. I grab my stuff and come up to him. "Come and give your old man a hug.", Dad replied.

"Dad!", I cried, as I jumped into his arms. Dad picked me up in his arms and hugged me for a long time. "I missed you so much.", Dad sighed. "Yeah, missed you too.", I replied. Dad took me inside the house and I looked around, and everything is the same as last time.

"Ok, your room is still the same, so you can put your stuff in there.", Dad replied. I came up to my room and it was still the same as it was; pink and princess themed. Dad helped me with my stuff and saw my guitar case.

"You play guitar?", Dad asked. "Yes, but not just guitar. I sing and dance.", I replied. "Oh, what kinds of dancing?", Dad asked. "Contemporary.", I replied."Mind if you play a bit for me?", Dad asked.

"Sure.", I replied, as I took my guitar out of the case and starts playing and sings Perfect by Ed Sheeran, as I sang, Dad was amazed how talented I was. After I finish the song, Dad gave me an applause. "That was beautiful, sweetheart.", Dad smiled.

"Thanks, I guess.", I sighed. "Anyways, I'll leave you to finish unpacking and I'll order some takeaway for dinner, tonight.", Dad replied, as he leaves me to unpack all my stuff.
