Timeskip, 1 hr or so later.
I just updated the chapter to have better spacing.
(POV: Y/N)

I watch helplessly in the seats as my best friend Jaune is attacked over and over again by Cardin Winchester. He knocks him back and Jaune tries to catch his breath. Cardin looks at his opponent and chuckles.

Jaune: (Breathing heavily)... Come on...

(Y/N): Come on Jaune, you can do this!

Bryan: KICK HIS ASS CARDIN!
Goodwitch: Mr. Green! Watch your language!

Bryan: Whatever.

Jaune lifts his sword and charges toward Cardin.

Jaune: AAAHHH!!
He swings his sword down, but Cardin dodges and hits Jaune with his mace. Jaune goes flying to the end of the small arena but quickly recovers and charges him again.

Jaune: AAAHHH!!!

He swings again. This time Cardin blocks and pushes Jaune back.

Cardin: This is the part... where you lose.

Jaune: Over my dead-

Cardin kicks Jaune in the balls. What a dick move.

(Y/N): HEY! THAT WAS UNCALLED FOR!

Jaune groans in pain and falls on the floor. Cardin growls and raises his mace.

(Y/N): JAUNE! NO!

I try to run to Jaune and save him, but SOMEone puts their foot out and I trip, causing me to fall on the ground. As I hit the floor, the buzzer sounds and Jaune is saved before Cardin can kill him.

Goodwitch: That's enough. Students, as you can see, Mr Arc's aura has now dropped into the red. In a tournament style duel, this would indicate that Jaune is no longer fit for battle, and the official may call the match.

She then turns to Jaune.

Goodwitch: Mr Arc, it's been weeks now. Please try and refer to your scroll during combat. Engaging your aura will help you decide when it is appropriate to attack or when it is better to move to a more... defensive strategy. We wouldn't want you to be gobbled up by a beowolf. Now would we?

Cardin: Speak for yourself.

Goodwitch: Remember everybody, the Vytal festival is only a few months away. It won't be long before students from the other kingdoms start arriving in Vale, so keep practicing!

Ruby helps me up, while the rest of the team shows off their excitement. Instead, I just put my hand on Ruby's shoulder.

(Y/N): Be sure to win one for me, okay guys?

Ruby: Oh (Y/N), I'm sure we'll figure something out for you to help us fight in the tournament.

(Y/N): If I'm still part of this team that is...

Ruby: Don't say that! You'll be fine.

Bryan: (Walking past) We'll see about that.

WBY: What is he talking about?

(Y/N): Right. Lemme get Jaune. We can all discuss this at lunch.

I go to the ring where Jaune was fighting against Cardin. The rest of his team was already there to help him up.

(Y/N): Hey Jaune, buddy, you doin alright?
Jaune: Yeah, I'm good... I think.

(Y/N): Hey, I know what'll make you feel better, some Dino nuggets! Let's go get some lunch!
