Your legs take you to a park, it’s empty and dim as the lampposts light up the area just a little bit. The moon seems to be gone, hidden by the clouds. You sit down on a bench and start to cry, there’s nothing else to do but cry at this point.
There’s nowhere to go, so you take this time to think about what just happened. San doesn't like you romantically, he doesn't even like girls. You're a little hurt knowing that he didn't tell you that he was into guys, but you ignore that fact for the moment. Why would he yell at you though? You don't think you really did anything wrong, maybe he was just stressed and didn't know what he was doing.
Even though you try to reason with yourself as to why San was so angry, you can't help but to still feel hurt. You were each other's only friend, so getting into a fight was definitely bad for the both of you. Your heart aches painfully and you start to sob somewhat quietly.
“(Y/N)?” A soft voice asks, obviously concerned.
You look up to see the last person you’d expect, “Gate Boy?”
He walks to the spot in front of you and kneels down, looking up at you. His hand reaches up to your face slowly, cupping your cheek and wiping away a tear. You avert your eyes but lean into his hand.
“Hey, can you tell me what’s wrong?” Usually if someone said this you would snap out, but you just let it all out this time. You tell him about San and about how your dad would frequently yell at you and tell you that you’re worthless. The things you told him were things nobody else knew about, this boy you’ve talked to once is the one person you feel comfortable with right now.
It’s been such a long time since you’ve cried like this, but he was here for you. Everytime a tear would roll down your cheek, he would be quick to wipe it away. No one really listened to you until him, it was nice to have someone who cares this much, you feel safe with him.
You finally finish crying and ranting, but he doesn’t leave you, instead he gets closer. He pulls you up gently and hugs you firmly, this was the first time someone other than San hugged you. After a second of surprise, you hug him back tightly and start to cry again. All of your tears fall onto his jacket as you cry into his chest.
His somehow steady heartbeat calms you down and you two just stand there, holding each other. This boy had changed you everytime you were with him, you were no longer the bad girl, now you were just a teenage girl trying to get by.
He pulls away slightly, just enough to where he can see your face.
“You can stay at my place tonight, I’m sure my mother won’t mind,” His voice is hopeful and convincing. You look up at him with red, watery eyes and nodly slowly. The way the dim lights hit his face made him look breathtakingly handsome.
"Let's go," He whispered and smiled gently.
