He felt absolutely terrible.

How could he not? Jarod had done the unthinkable. In all of his short eighteen years of life, he never once thought something so incredible and magnificent could ever happen, let alone due to his own actions.

He had a knack for his ego getting the best of him, and this instance was no exception. Jarod was known for being a very proud and somewhat arrogant individual, to which he never denied. Why would he? He had just began dabbling with this newfound ability and the potential for excessive power and control was limitless.

Jarod smirked at the thought of this. If he truly wanted to, he could manage to have any person cowering before him. Giddy with power, Jarod chuckled. There was a slight menacing edge to it.

He was just a few steps away from becoming essentially a god.

Shaking his head, Jarod attempted to clear his mind. This time was different. He wouldn't let this power get to his head. Jarod has to be very careful about how he used this. If this information got into the wrong hands, he could get in serious trouble and many, many people could be injured as a result.

Sighing once more, Jarod couldn't help but feel like Brooke was going to be upset. It made sense. He was sure that if the roles were reversed he would feel the same way.

But the roles weren't reversed. Jarod had all of the control now.

It didn't need to be this way. She had so many options, yet Brooke decided to be selfish. Without even a second thought of his well-being, Brooke had made the decision to go to a university across the country. There were so many other incredible schools in their home state, yet she couldn't help herself.

This hurt Jarod more than he liked to admit. For the past year they had made plans of their futures together and Brooke had promised her love and life to him. She swore that she would never leave his side. Then, out of the blue, she turned his entire life upside down.

It had only been two weeks since she had broke the news, but she had clearly been planning it for quite some time. She was preparing to leave for good the following month.

After countless hours of begging her to stay and trying to come up with accommodations, Jarod realized she wouldn't change her mind. She didn't even seem upset about the distance she was about to wedge between them. In fact, Brooke seemed thrilled at the idea of leaving her life and boyfriend behind.

Jarod tried to convince her to let him come with her, but she was very hesitant. Although polite about it, she indirectly shot him down. Brooke made it clear that she would be going alone. This frightened Jarod beyond comprehension.

From the moment she told him the news something had shifted. She seemed... distant. Brooke took every excuse she could to spend as little time with Jarod as possible. When they were together, she was very cold and all but refused to be intimate with him. Jarod considered himself lucky when she put her phone down and made eye contact for more than Thirty seconds.

This pained Jarod. It absolutely destroyed him. Brooke was the love of his life and he was so crazily, madly in love with her. He would do anything for her. Jarod wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with his dream girl.

But the feelings weren't reciprocated. Brooke constantly blew him off and tossed him aside. He was nothing more than a mere object to her, used when most convenient for her.

Well Jarod had had enough of it. He was tired of being shut down. The boy loved her more than he could fathom and knew he wouldn't make it without her. He couldn't lose her. He just couldn't.
