I trudged my way down the school corridors with a frown. I wasn't feeling good today, but I had no other choice but to show up for a test we had today.

I headed to my locker slightly excitedly, expecting a note to be waiting for me. As I put in my combination, I pull my locker door open and frown.

There's no note.

Shaking off my disappointment, I took out the books I would need for first period and slammed the locker shut with a loud sigh.

"Wow. What's crawled up your ass, Little Miss Angry Pants?"

I turned around and sent my twin a filthy glare. He raised his hands in mock surrender before speaking, "Don't murder me. I was only joking."

I rolled my eyes before replying, "I feel sick and the day has barely started. Not to mention, there's no note today," I huffed.

Alex frowned, "But there's always a note!"

I nodded before walking down the corridor to my classroom. Alex trailed behind me with a look of confusion on his face.

"Exactly," I replied.

Alex grabbed my arm and halted me to a stop. I whined at this, because he pulled me too hard and hurt my shoulder.

He winced before apologising.

"Why?" I asked him with a shake of my head before snatching my arm out of his grasp.

Alex scratched his head with a thoughtful look, "Well, maybe no note means our mystery writer is sick! Or not in school today."

I nodded slowly. He could very well be correct.

"So...," He continued, with a wave of his hand.

My brows furrowed. I was not following where this was going.

"So...?" I trailed off in confusion.

Alex rolled his eyes with a loud sigh, "You are so clueless, it pains me."

I went to open my mouth to reply, but before I could even form a single syllable, Alex had cut me off.

"We should go down to the main office. One of us will distract Mrs Browne, the receptionist, and the other will find and photograph the role! That way we see who is absent today," He explained, with a cheeky glint in his eyes.

I pulled a face at his extremely horrible idea. Alex noticed this and pouted, "Come on, Cass! Live it a little."

He did have a great point and an even better plan. If this all worked out, we would be one step closer to finding out who my anonymous writer was.

"Ugh, fine. I guess we can do that," I reluctantly agreed with a huff.

Alex loudly cheered and started dancing. He was mumbling a song and swaying his hips, throwing in the occasional twerk.

I rolled my eyes at him and pushed my glasses further up my nose once I noticed them starting to slide down.

I kicked my leg out and hit his shin causing him to yelp and stop dancing. He sent me a filthy glare before straightening out his shirt with a grumble.

"Well," I said, "Are we just going to stand here and dance? Or a we going on a mission?"

Alex's eyes lit up as he yelled his reply, "Mission! Mission!"

I laughed at this and shook my head.

I heard footsteps running over frantically and turned my head to see Lily very much sprinting towards us.
