INT. FREDERICK's CAR - DUSK
Frederick is driving home with his family in silence. Lacy looks over at Frederick with guilt.
INT. LIVING ROOM
Frederick stares at all the family photos in sadness. He has finally let go of his denial. Lacy ENTERS the room.
LACY Sofie's asleep. [no response] Freddy?
FREDERICK She's not mine, is she?
LACY You're the only father she's ever known.
FREDERICK How did I not see this? Years of lies.
LACY We both wanted children.
FREDERICK Of our own. Together.
LACY I made a mistake...
FREDERICK Did you? You could've had any white guy, maybe Latino, native American and I would've never been the wiser. You wanted me to know that I couldn't get you pregnant.
LACY It wasn't like that.
Frederick hands her their family photo to examine.
FREDERICK It sure looks like that was your message.
Frederick EXITS the house. Lacy stares out the open front door.
LACY Where are you going?
Sound of a car starting up and driving away.
INT. LILITH STERNIN HOME - FOYER - NIGHT

[sound of knocking on the door, repeat]
Door opens. Frederick ENTERS.
FREDERICK Mom? [sound of two people giggling from the kitchen] Mom, are you home?
LILITH (OS) Frederick?
INT. KITCHEN
Frederick ENTERS the kitchen. Lilith is standing behind the island counter wearing a sexy nighty and a silky short robe to match. She's holding a can of whipped cream. There's a bit of embarrassment on her face.
FREDERICK I'm sorry for just coming over like this. I would've called but I left my phone... I also left my wife.
LILITH Wait. What?
FREDERICK She's been lying to me for years.
LILITH Okay. Do you want to talk about it?
Frederick looks over at a digital picture frame that changes photographs every 30 seconds that features his family. He puts his hand on the counter.
POV DIGITAL PICTURE FRAME - Image 1 shows a picture of Lilith holding baby Sofia. Then image changes into a recent photo/selfie of Lilith and Sofia hugging.
FREDERICK [building suspense] Once you know, you'll never be able to go back to not knowing.
Lilith places her hand over his.
LILITH Go ahead. Don't worry about me, Frederick. I'm here for you right now.
Frederick takes notice of her one hand comforting him and the other hand holding the whipped cream.
