Chapter 1

Izzy stood there , in the middle of the full decorated room, though , all her personal belongings were still packed in all these boxes laying around the room looked ready and neat.

With a smile she signed proudly,
She did it.

However stubborn her mother is, she actually convinced her, her father was supportive of her living alone as she will soon go to university and needs to get used to it, that was what he thought and was even more accepting when his daughter took it upon herself to do the search on her own. She laughed, what better place than that of her brother's? A whole house to herself and Alec.

Truthfully why she even brought it up, moving out, was because they were driving her crazy, her parents. They had divorced a long time ago yet they were still salty, especially Maryse who made her father seem as if a monster, especially to little Max. It infuriated her.

He was in no way a good husband, his multiple affairs to be a great example but as a father, he was great, always there for her, supporting her... Well, lately, the past years, he might have been out of it, almost never calling and always yelling at the slightest inconvenience but that could be because of work, it mustn't be doing well, she thought.

But now, everything has settled. No longer rambling from her mother, fights and screams, and no more scolding from her father because her grades don't reach his satisfaction.

She still loved them, but they do tend to get suffocating at times.

Her friends thought it was odd, sending her to live without them knowing full well she would use her freedom for things that do not approve of, that was why Maryse probably agreed only if Izzy moved in with Alec instead of having an apartment to herself. Robert didn't know, he and Alec had no good relationship for some reason, Izzy knew even if it was not spoken, she did not dare ask directly. They only things she knows is that Alec had a terrible argument with their father, resulting him move out at sixteen, yet her mother confirmed he moved closer to school and everything was fine.
She still hasn't asked Alec about that night he left, the yells were muffled and she was too scared to go check on her own, she was a child after all.

They did not held much contact after that, especially when he moved to university, but at least they texted eachother often.

She knew her brother had an interest in boys, he had confessed it through the phone some years ago, he had in the past also asked for advice, date ideas and stuff like that. He seemed to have a liver back then but hasn't said much, only a name and that it did not end well, they had broken up only after three months they had gotten together. Henry Derious, a police officer Alec met in a club he was assigned to secure.

Alec did not date after that, was it that terrible she thought? Maybe he was too scared. She hates the idea of Alec being lonely.

She loves Alec dearly, even if he is grumpy, strict at times, she loves her brother unconditionally.

He was and is always there for her and she tries her best to be there for him too. Out of all her family Alec seems to be the only one, besides Max, to not judge... Everything really. From the way she is dressed to the way she acts.

Sometimes it was too much but Alec since she can remember him always stood beside her, comforting and listening to her.

So the idea of Alec living in this two floor house all alone in sick days, his overheated body on the couch as he feels so heavy he cants even go to the bathroom. In that weak state of him just who is going to wipe his sweat away, help him not stubble, who is going to be there to feed him hot chicken soup?!

She frowned, yes, that thought is upsetting...

"Hey is everything all right in here?"
Alec called from the doorframe. He seemed all right, a little tired from the night shifts but also his daily responsibilities. Alec surprisingly had a full on schedule, meeting with his friend during the evening or during the early morning to train, then cleaning, cooking, taking care of the house and all he is left with is some free time for a nap or reading.
