It had started off simple, traditional.
Watch a movie, eat, gossip... That is what a sleepover of the last minute was. Otherwise Izzy would have had come up with other activities as well, like face masks but Clary and Simon had forbided spa night from past incidents, Izzy and Jace would fall asleep after a relaxing facemask and a soothing neck message making the sleepover an actual sleep over. They could make something easy and fan, like cupcakes or cookies, but Alec had forbiden access in his kitchen.
How long had it been?
They spent all the time together, after a while they had nothing to talk about.
Until Jace jumped on his own two feet with a heavy sigh, ''Come on guys! Someone! say anything, the silence is unberable!''
It wasn't that Jace couldn't stand the comfortable silence between friends, it was rather the fact that everyone was ecxited about this small party of their own but in the end nothing was heppening.
"... Oh! You won't believe what the Mr Patrick said about-"
"We were there Simon... We are in all classes together... Sitting literally beside one another." Clary signed, also turned off with the mood.
"Cranky much."
Simon said under his breath, earning a pitch from Izzy who followed Jace, getting up with a clap of her hands.
"I know what we should do!''-
"Are we actually summoning a demon? Are you all out of your minds?" Simon's genuine question fell on deaf ears.
"Maybe the mirror is too big?"
Jace asked, staring at the tall body mirror."The bigger, the better."
Izzy ensured him. Jace laughed, "That is what she-""Do not!"
All three said in union.
Jace would often try to follow trends to keep up his humour... It's like a boomer mother trying to understand and use modern typos."Thank goodness Clary does not date you because you are funny." Simon patted Jace on the shoulder.
Jace gasped, offended.
"... Why is she even dating you again?" Simon asked, getting a smack on his shoulder from Jace who later whispered to him something... It must have hit on because Simon was left defeated.
"Is that all?"
Izzy asked, staring at the summoning circle that was made by clary and her mirror that was placed in the middle. Simon's cut hair sprawled all over the circle, that was decided after losing in a game of paper scissors. Jace had to speak the enchantment that would, supposedly, set the demon free.Magnus Bane, Izzy thought was a name she had heard before, surely. Magnus is a rare name but her ears had picked on it before. A prince of hell that lived among humans, someone who had learned about beauty, care and love of humanity but also hatred, fear and cruelty.
Having searched on google she found nothing except from a story, a newspaper story from the early forties. The disappearance of a infamous lord, someone who many had suspicions of being a wizard, a warlock perhaps. He left behind his lover, Camomile Belcourt a rich woman who was also suspected to have connections with the underworld.
Many thought he got scared of her and the accusations of magic and run away to save his life, many cursed him in jealousy for being naive enough to run off, leaving such a gem of a to be bride back. Some puttied and others cursed him. But, an unknown source said with assurance that a person as cocky as Magnus Bane himself is no coward, hinting that his fiance might be behind his disappearance. Ever since that Article there was nothing else, leaving the name Magnus Bane in an unsolved case. That was not the Magnus Bane Izzy was looking for. That was a human who most likely got murdered by his to be wife for whatever reason.
"Okay, everything seems to be ready." Jace confirmed, settling down to follow the last step. The participants must sit around the the summoning circle and whisper three lines made out of ancient sayings translated with latin letters. It was bard to pronounce most of the passage but Simon was there, correcting them.
