The mein door of the Lightwood residence slammed close, the young teen cringing at the loud sound, having a headache all morning he really did not need his mother scolding him about his rude manners.

Walking up the stares he heard his name being called half way up. He stopped and slowly turned around knowing it was his mother who called, ready to tell him off for being unnecessarily loud.

However the moment he saw her he froze in place, brushed and blood linking down from a cut on her forehead. She seemed scared... He too felt his heart sink in his chest, his hair to stand up and cold sweat form when he noticed his father who gestured him to follow, his mother shaking her head, trembling, no do not follow.

But Alec did.

Maybe it was fear? Worry? He still could not tell why he followed.

The moment he entered in his father's office and heard the lock close behind him, he regretted everything.

The things his father said, he doesn't dare speak, of how, without any proof accused him of having intimacy with the neighbor's kid that was twice his age.

Alec had never spoken to that kid, rather, the man.

Yet his father thought so, and confidently as well. He said a lot more things than that... A lot that he can not remember, it was as if the entire time his brain blocked his ears... Or was it his hands.

He can't remember most of it.

He should be happy he thought, but could not. Why was he accused of sleeping around at sixteen when all he did was go to school and back home everyday just to avoid the inevitable yelling.

His dad, Robert, would break things and even force him watch some things to show him how intercorse should be done. The right way.

Alec remembers himself yelling back, to stop already, that he will never act on it, to never do it if it meant for Robert to let him be.

Robert never touched Alec, he thought of him as an illness, a punishment upon his perfect family. Alec found himself in his room hitting himself because he knew how much it would hurt his mother if he cut. They were both in this and had agreed to not leave the other behind.

Sometimes it was too much.

Sometimes he screamed in his pillow and cried silent tears.

Those kind of memories woke him up wrenched in sweat. Alec up to this day can not regret running away at sixteen with the help of his mother, leaving Izzy and Max behind. It would either have been that or...

He still remembers how much he cried when Maryse managed to divorce Robert  and take custody of Max and Izzy. The happiness, the relief.

However, what makes him feel on edge is that Izzy and Max don't know. Maryse had made multiple sharp comments but only the ones related with the several mistresses Robert had. Alec wants to tell them, at least Izzy, Max is too young. But he is afraid he won't be able, that he will cry, it brings him so much same when it shouldn't. He is not ready and neither is Maryse, she feels ashamed for not divorcing Robert sooner, when it was still early and Alec would have been safe. But that too late.

Alec sat on his couch, he didn't sleep much, not as much as he wanted at least. Izzy still hasn't arrived so he decided to check up on her. Frowning when he saw a text from an unknown number, the only thing he needed to do is read the first line to block it immediately.
