Having an innocently hot boyfriend sure has its downsides, Madara realizes.
[A little bit of disclaimer: I don't hate Mito, okay? She's lovely, and it's hard to hate her character tbh. But let's be honest here. Hashirama is for Madara only (^∇^)ノ♪]
------
Madara Uchiha is not a jealous man.
Even when almost every single woman in Konoha swarmed around his boyfriend, he doesn't mind.
Even when some of those women were obviously making advances and being touchy-feely to his boyfriend, he doesn't mind.
Even when some of them did desperate measures just to catch his boyfriend's attention, he doesn't mind.
He knew that at the end of the day, Hashirama is his and his only.
However, there was this certain girl who seems to be the best among those women. A beautiful, redhead woman, refined, elegant, and came from a prominent clan. Her name is Mito Uzumaki.
Ever since the day she came to Konoha, which was only a few months after Konoha is made, she already made her motives clear: to marry Hashirama.
By then, Hashirama and Madara were already in a relationship. They do love each other, and only if they can disclose this fact to other people, maybe then the Uzumaki would give up.
Every single day, she would visit Hashirama in his office. For the first weeks, she always brought him lunch and insisted that they eat together. Being the ever so kind and polite Hokage that he is, Hashirama agreed. It's not cheating, he reasoned out. He's just accommodating the daughter of the head of their ally clan.
And of course, Madara doesn't mind.
The meals together only stopped when Hashirama told her that he doesn't want to be a burden anymore and that he could get his own lunch. The truth is that the Senju was starting to feel uncomfortable around her. Yes, at first it was a kind gesture to accommodate her. However, her everyday visits became longer and aside from it affecting his job as the Hokage, he was running out of words or ways to react to whatever she was saying. Just smiling all the time has proved to be tiring at some point.
She's different from any other woman who made advances to him. Very, very different. She sticks like glue.
Hashirama told Madara about it and the latter only laughed at him. The Senju didn't know whether to be glad that his boyfriend doesn't think that he's cheating on him, or sad that his boyfriend shows him no sympathy. Maybe it was a mix of the two.
If he wants this to end—Mito 'courting' him—he certainly have to do something. A good portion of his free time was spent on ways to tell her that he's not interested on her. Mito is a soft-hearted woman and Hashirama feared that if he's not going to be careful with his words, he may hurt her. He doesn't want that.
That day, he decided to just get it over with. The sooner, the better. He would do it privately to save her atleast from humiliation. He'd try to be as gentle as possible and it'd be up to Mito on how she'll take it.
He waited for the whole day, but the redhead didn't come to his office on the usual time that she visits him. He thought maybe she decided to just give up. 'Well, that's convenient', he thought.
He called it a day and was about to go home to his Madara when she suddenly showed up.
"Good evening, Hokage-sama," Mito greeted.
The Hokage was a bit shocked, yet he smiled and greeted her nonetheless. "Oh, hi Mito."
The redhead walked past his desk and proceeded near his seat. "I'll be blunt, Hokage-sama. You're very kind and courteous, but sometimes you can be oblivious of what is in front of you. I like you, and I'm sure I was clearly implying that through my own actions." She sat on his desk so that she was facing Hashirama.
The brunet's mind ran in circles. He couldn't think of an appropriate answer or whether he had to say something back because she obviously didn't ask a question. Yet he felt he really should say something, if not to stop her, then maybe just to ease up this awkward situation.
"I am completely sure that you're single and you're not officially with someone. Why won't you like me, Hashirama?" She reached for his hand but she stopped when Hashirama spoke.
"Mito, I—I think you are a kind woman. You're very pretty, sweet, and caring. Every man would literally do anything for you to be his husband. And the one you'll marry will be lucky to have you as his wife." He paused and sighed, mentally preparing himself on how he would deliver his next words.
Mito smiled widely as she continued to reach Hashirama's hand. "Hashirama..."
The next things were far beyond Hashirama's imaginations.
Mito straddled his lap and put his hand on her chest. She then put both her hands around his neck and leaned in to kiss him.
Hashirama's eyes widened. He didn't have the chance to grasp everything that is happening and so he failed to dodge her. But he quickly pulled back and was about to say something when the door burst open.
"Madara!"
Never had he been so happy and relieved to see him. He was saved!
The Uchiha squinted his eyes as if he was blinded by the sight that welcomed him. He went to the Hokage's office because there's a place that he wanted to go with Hashirama that night. Undeniably, he didn't see this coming.
He stormed across the room and stopped beside Hashirama's seat. He glared daggers at the woman who was sitting leisurely on his boyfriend's lap. Slightly tilted his head, he motioned her to get off of him.
"Excuse me, Miss. He's taken," the restraint in his voice made it rougher than usual. He forcefully grabbed Hashirama's hand and 'dragged' him outside the office. He didn't utter a single word until they reached the outside of the building.
Hashirama gulped. He's sure Madara didn't see her kissing him, but that sight of her on his lap was indeed misleading.
Still, he tried. "Madara, let me explain." He didn't want to lose him just because of a stupid misunderstanding.
Madara turned around to face him, still not letting go of his hand. His grip was tight and Hashirama was certain that it will leave some marks on his wrist.
"You don't have to," Madara said, but his face was blank.
"No, you don't understand. She—"
"—likes you, I know. And I also know that you don't like her. You won't cheat on me, would you?" It sounded like a threat, but Hashirama didn't have a reason to be afraid since he didn't do anything wrong. His face lit up. He smiled. All his worries were gone now.
"Of course I won't." He walked closer to Madara to pull him in a warm, loving embrace.
The raven-haired tried to hide the small smile that formed on his lips but Hashirama didn't fail to see it. He leaned in to kiss him.
Madara have never doubted Hashirama's feelings for him. It was a fact—as certain as the sun sets at dusk and rises at dawn.
And of course, Madara Uchiha is not a jealous man at all.
-End-
I didn't intend for Mito's character to turn out like that. Sorry not sorry (??)
Thank you for the reads and votes and comments! I really appreciate them 😊
