CHAPTER SIX - Obsession

''I advise if you want to stay, you stay well away from what's mine!'' Nicole rolled her eyes but kept her eyes on the moon.

''What's yours, I never knew your name was on everything?'' Nicole wasn't afraid of showing her sarcasm.

''Listen here, Carter is mine all mine! Stay away from him!'' Rene slammed her makeup mirror shut and faced Nicole.

''And if I don't?'' Nicole said out of curiosity. Nicole let out a grin.

''There will be consequences and I won't be afraid of hitting you!'' Rene said full of anger. Nicole was enjoying this, she turned around till them two were face to face.

''Hit me? I got taught if a bitch slaps me, slap her back twice as hard!'' Nicole grinned.

''Is that a threat Miss. Perez?'' Rene was in her face by this time.

''No babe... That's a promise.'' Nicole got up and went back inside. She entered the dining room and sat down next to Kayla opposite Carter. Plates and different cutlery were spread out among a large glass dining table. Candles were lit and the flowers were polished. Rene arrived the room and sat silently next to Carter. People came I with plates of food and placed them soundlessly on the table and out champagne glasses filled with wine... Besides Kayla's.

''Why aren't I getting any wine!'' She looked at the man who sat at his throne at the end of the table.

''Baby Kayla, your just too young.'' Carter replied with a grin and then looking towards Nicole. Kayla grabbed a piece of chicken from a large dining room plate that was placed in front of her and tossed it at Carter. He threw it back...

''ENOUGH!'' A loud voice made the table go quiet.

The man at the front of the throne scared us all besides Carter, instead gave a glare towards him.

''I didn't realise you were so calm, Carter.'' The unknown man said over the table. Carter quickly glanced at Nicole and then back to him.

''And I didn't realise you wanted to sleep with my mother.'' Carter got up and tucked his chair in. ''I'm not hungry.'' He walked away and headed upstairs. Everyone gasped in shock and looked at one another. Nicole got up and followed after him putting her hand on Eva's shoulder making her smile.

Nicole travelled up the long luxurious staircase and opened a large door that stood in the middle of the two stairs onto a balcony. She saw Carter facing the night sky with his two hands leaning on the stone fencing. The cold pressed against Nicole's skin and she walked towards him and crossed her arms stroking them to try and warm herself up. She stood by him in silence and looked up at the sky.

''Go back inside.'' He was direct, the anger escaping his lips. She turned and faced him.

''No.'' That's all she had to say his evil gaze travelled to her eyes and burned through them.

''Nicole, go back inside I want to be alone!'' He tried so hard not to raise his voice and he took a deep breath.

''What happened in there?'' She answered trying to ignore the previous comment.

''Not every family is like yours.'' He rolled his eyes.

''Excuse me!'' Nicole was shocked as the statement left his mouth. Anger filled her eyes.

''You heard me; Nicole Perez given the world by her amazing father! Getting everything, she wants. Ooh look at me I so full of wealth I can get anyone I want.'' Nicole felt the vicious anger rise.

''You don't know anything about me!'' Nicole stood up for herself.

''Of course, I do! Your face says it all! The way you act! The words on your record! Trust me Nicole I know more than you know yourself!'' He shouted and crossed his arms. Nicole's eyes watered but she didn't want him to see how much them words hurt.

''Have you ever been beaten?'' Nicole blustered out without hesitation.

''Yes, more than you know. What has that got to do with anything?'' His sarcastic words hit like a truck.

''Words hurt Carter but so does my father...'' Nicole's voice got more silent. Carters eyes full of shock he tried to cut in before she said anything else. ''The night I saved your sister, I arrived to my so-called home and... he had three men from different Mafia's did stuff to me...'' A tear strolled down Nicole cheeks. His blood full of anger.

''Before you judge someone Carter make sure you know them not just what's printed on paper...'' She gave a faint smile and turned around and walked back to her room. As she left the balcony, he, sighed in frustration and rubbed his face.

30 minutes later 10:46pm.

A sudden knock appeared on Eva's door, Carter walked in and sat himself on the sofa by her bed.

''What did you say to Nicole?'' His face emotionless. Hard to read if not impossible.

''None of your concern, son.'' She turned around and grabbed her hairbrush and put her diamond earrings in.

''Answer me, what was said to Nicole!'' His voice slowly rising. ''What did she say to you!''

''Nothing was said, be careful!'' Eva turned around and grabbed her purse however stopped by Carter.

''What happened to her the night?! You know something!'' His voice roared and shocked Eva.

''Maybe talk to her yourself! I suggest you move.'' He moved to one side allowing his mother to walk past. Ten seconds later he put his hand through the wall. Nicole stopped and stared, and he realized he turned to see her full of sadness. She walked towards him and grabbed his hand.

''Is this what you normally do when your pissed?'' She smiled.

''It's normally a person not a wall, Miss Perez.'' He said smartly.

''Come on, lets get you cleaned up.'' Her eyes rolled and she guided him to the nearest bathroom, her bathroom. She sat on top of the marble counter and brought out the first aid kit reaching for his hand. Their eyes encountered locking them in place.

''What happened?'' Nicole's eyes drifted away from his and she started to clean up the bleeding.

''What?'' Nicole answered.

''That night?'' Nicole hesitated for a split second and then carried on.

''Why do you want to know?'' She said with fire.

''I want to make the ones who did it to you pay.'' Her head shot up.
