- present day -
I heard a knock on my door as I took off my headphones, I glanced over at it.
"Mike, mom said that there's gonna be another family gathering this evening." Joanna said.
Her dark brown hair was put up in a messy bun, as she rubbed her eyes.
"Honestly, with how you look I can't tell if you just woke up after pulling an all-nighter or if you barely slept at all." I chuckled, smirking at her as she glared my way.
"Love you too, bro." I could feel the sarcasm dripping from that sentence. "I'm gonna go shopping soon, wanna come too or stay here?"
Thinking about it, I stretched out as I got up. "I'll come with you, I need a new notebook to write more songs with John."
She nodded and her way back out my room, politely closing the door.
Speaking of John, he broke up with Layla after two years. Turns out she cheated on him and used him as the side dude and not the actual boyfriend.
Actually, no wonder. He never got to go to her place unless her parents weren't home.
He also mentioned how it was actually not that shocking cause of her avoiding him after a year of dating. The guy that she is now dating is the guy she cheated with, which was the drummer from our parallel class.
I got ready, putting on my hoodie and taking some money with me.
Walking out the room, I made my way outside to wait for Joanna. She came out right as I checked my phone.
I looked over at her, putting my phone back into my pocket. "Wanna use my motorcycle?" I asked, holding the keys in my hand.
"Sure, I have my bag with me to place the stuff in it." She said, making her way to the two helmets that were in the garage.
Putting on my helmet, I sat on the motorcycle. Waiting for Jo to get on it.
After she got on we both drove to the nearby mall. She was holding onto me a bit tighter than usual.
Kinda weird, but I shrugged it off as her showing her love for her older brother.
Parking it in place, I took off my helmet and placed it away. Taking the keys with me.
"So what do you need to buy?" I asked, staring back at her.
She walked up beside me, looking at her phone. I glanced at it and saw a list of things that our mom wrote down.
"Okay, so the witch is too lazy to go buy stuff. Good to know." I chuckled to myself, making my way inside and holding my sister close as she continued to read the list.
"Mom said I should go cause she was preparing everything for the gathering. She also told me I shouldn't bring you with me, but I decided not to listen to her seeing as dad is with his friends and I can't drive. Also cause it's much faster than walking here." She argued.
"Awwww, my baby sister is following my footsteps. So proud of you" I mumbled, brushing away a fake tear.
"I just don't see why be so angry at you for choosing your happiness over your safety. I mean gays aren't that bad, I can see that cause one of them is my cool older brother." Jo said, lightly elbowing my stomach.
"Stop you're actually gonna make me cry. I am feeling all soft inside now." I said, my cheeks heating up.
"So who's the lucky guy this time? Who caught the attention of your big cold heart?" I could tell she was teasing me now.
"Currently, no one. Now let's just buy all these things and get the hell out of here." I answered, looking back forwards at the aisles of things to buy.
