TAKING A CHANCE

Chapter 5

After George said his goodbye's, Elayna and and her father decided to go to dinner and talk and get to know each other. "So, Elayna, what can you tell me about yourself?" "Well, there really isn't a lot to say, um, I lived with Mary, did the housework and cooking. This is the first time in about a year that I have been outside the house. I wasn't normally allowed to leave because Mary didn't want anyone to know that I lived with her or knew her." Chibs tried not to show how angry he was but he had a hard time. "I'm sorry, but now you will never have to worry about that again. I'm vera glad ta have here." Smiling they both ate their food while asking little questions here and there. After dinner, Chibs and her went back to the clubhouse. After pulling in she saw a bunch of people there and started to get very nervous. Chibs grabbed her hand "It's ok love, you can go to the dorm, we had Gemma set you up one while we were at dinner." Thankfully she hugged her father and made her way in side. An older lady with dark hair and blond highlights came up to her, "Hi baby, I'm Gemma. I have a dorm set up for next to your dad's and Quinn's, if you need anything just let them know or me." "Thank you, ma'am, I appreciate that." "Now none of that ma'am crap, you just call me Gemma or Gems, I am the momma to most of these guys so you can call me mom if you want as well." Looking at Gemma with tears in her eyes, she stepped forward and grasped Gemma in a hug "I've never really had a mom, so thank you, I would like to just call you Gemma for know but maybe soon I will get to mom." Hugging the young girl back Gemma smiled slightly, "You do what ever you are comfortable with ok? Now let me show you to your room, you look exhausted." Following Gemma, Elayna looked around, she spotted Quinn looking at her and decided to wave a little and smile. 

Quinn watched her walk away with Gemma, but when she walked by and waved and smiled at him, he felt his chest clench. He wasn't sure what would happen but he knew tomorrow he was going to get to know her a little. He thought to himself that he should tell Chibs what was happening as he didn't want the older man to shoot him just yet.  Walking over to where Chibs was playing pool with Tig he nudged him "Can I speak to you for sec?" Chibs looked at him for a minute and nodded, laying down his pool stick he pointed to outside. After sitting at a picnic table Quinn looked at Chibs, "I'm just gonna put this out there, from the moment I saw Elayna I had this urge to protect her and she just draws me in. I wanted to tell you that I plan on seeing where this goes."  Chibs sat there quietly for a bit, now Quinn wouldn't call himself a nervous man but he was hoping to have Chibs say something positive. Sighing Chibs looked out at the parking lot, "I just got her Quinn, and she has been completely mistreated and abused her whole life. I'm not saying I don't want her with you, but take your time. Don't push to much to fast, and expect me to steal her for some bonding time." "Understood" Just then Gemma cam walking out towards the men, they saw her face and knew she was pissed about something. "Chibs, if you don't take care of this Mary woman, I sure as hell will!" "Whoa, whoa, what's the matter what happened?" Taking a deep breath she answered "I took Elayna to her room and was showing her where everything was, when I turned around she was crying. I asked her what was wrong, and she smiled and asked me if she really was getting a bed. I of coarse told her yes, where else would she sleep. She fucking said that at Mary's all she had was a old mat on the floor in the corner of the basement. I asked her what else, she said nothing she had a mat, shoe box for her belongings and the two pairs of clothes she used as pillows. I'm gonna kill the bitch!" After hearing this both men were livid, Gemma turned and realized the rest of the club was listening as well. All of them were varying expressions of either sadness or anger. "Tomorrow take her shopping, I want you to get anything and everything she could possible need or want, I dont care what or how much. While your doing that, Jax, if we could I need to get my house cleaned up and I want to make up the spare room for her." Jax nodded "Anything you want to do man, we have no plans tomorrow so that's what we'll do." 

After making all the plans the men went back inside, Quinn decide to head to his room for the night, after getting ready for bed, he heard some noises from the room Elayna was in. He wasn't sure what they were but he decided to investigate, walking to her door he knocked. "Um, come in" Opening the door Quinn looked to see her making up a bed on the floor, "What are doing?" "Um, well, I can't seem to get comfortable on the bed, I've never slept on one before, it's I don't know I just can't get comfortable like I said." Nodding he closed and locked the door, then stripped to his boxers and laid down "Come here" "What are you doing?" "Come here, I will help you get comfortable, but I'll be damned if you ever sleep on a floor again." Holding out his arm, Elayna looked at him, she had never slept with anyone before but she couldn't explain why, but she trusted him, and really did want to try the bed. Slowly she made her way into the bed and laid on her side with her back towards Quinn, he pulled her into his chest, stuck one arm under her neck and put the other over her hip. He softly rubbed circles with his thumb on her hand, "Goodnight Lil' Bit" Smiling Elayna realized she was super comfortable and loved it "Goodnight Giant."
