Marcel Ruiz- One For You

Y/N's POV:

I had just over half an hour until my shift finished at the coffee shop. I had just finished preparing a drink for a customer and served it to them, I felt a buzz in my pocket from my phone. I held my phone in my hands below the counter to check who had texted me, it was my boyfriend Asher. He told me that he was coming to the coffee shop I worked at with one of his friends, I replied with a quick 'ok' and then went to prepare another drink.

About ten minutes I heard the little bell on the back of the door ring again so I looked up and saw Asher and his friend entering the little shop. They walked towards the counter and that's when I got a closer view of Asher's friend. Asher leant forward to kiss me but I turned my head unknowingly so he ended up kissing my cheek. He gave me a weird look but brushed it off and ordered an iced coffee, he got a phone call and left the shop to answer it. Meanwhile his friend stepped forward shyly and muttered a quiet 'hi'. I did the same and smiled at him shyly, I asked whether he wanted a drink and he said he would take an iced coffee too so I started making their drinks as he watched silently. Just as they were made, Asher walked back in and paid for their drinks and they both sat at a table near the window, his friend kept glancing towards me and I hadn't even realized that I was doing the same.

My shift was over and I was getting ready to close the shop. Asher and his friend were the only people left in the shop apart from me and they realized that I was about to lock up so they stood up and instead of going around to get their empty cups, Asher's friend quickly grabbed both cups and put them in the trash. I smiled at him thankfully and he looked down shyly. Asher called his friend to join him outside whilst I wiped down the last few tables and that's when I found out what his name was- Marcel.

Marcel's POV:

I felt incredibly guilty when Asher called me outside and confessed to me that he was cheating on Y/N. I wanted to tell her but he was my best friend and I liked her myself and I couldn't believe that she was with him and what he was doing to her. It was very overwhelming and I didn't know what to do. If I was with her instead I would treat her properly and love her in the way she should be loved, I would never cheat on her like Asher. Too many thoughts were crowding my mind and I rushed off telling Asher that I would see him soon, I heard Y/N exit the shop and could feel her eyes burning into my back probably wondering why I had rushed off.

-The next day-

Asher texted me telling me he had to meet up with me again, I groaned and rolled off my bed to shower and get dressed. I headed out once I was ready and after a short ten minute walk I arrived at his house. I slumped down on his couch and waited for him to begin blabbing on about whatever.

'What should I do Marcel?'

'About Y/N and Olivia?'

'Yea'.

'Well who do you love?', I asked with a lump in my throat.

'Olivia...'

'I think I like her man...'

'Olivia?'

'No...Y/N', I said nervously.

He was obviously taken aback but shrugged it off, the door bell rang just in that time and he opened it and let in Olivia- the girl he liked instead of Y/N. He sighed as they both sat down and what he said next surprised me.

'I think she likes you too dude, she was being all weird yesterday and kept asking me why you had rushed off. Just go to the coffee and confess your feelings towards her I guess, she deserved someone better than me'.

I stood up and Asher did the same patting me on the back giving me confidence. 'Oh and one more thing Marcel, tell her I'm sorry please'.

I nodded and rushed out the house to head to the coffee shop, I picked some random flowers on the way and tried to fix my hair in a car window. I was minutes away and just wanted to see her so I ran, by the time I made it to the coffee shop I was out of breath, panting like a dog. I entered nervously and smiled as she looked up at me, I hid the flowers behind my back and headed towards her. Luckily the shop was empty so I asked her if we could sit and talk to which she agreed.

'So I have a lot to tell you, ummm Asher has been cheating on you and I know you don't really know me but if you give me a chance I swear I will make you happier than ever and treat you better than anyone ever has. Asher asked me to say sorry to you on his behalf. I will prove to you that I'm the perfect guy for you just as you are the perfect girl for me. Please, will you give me a chance?', I almost shouted quickly, then I held the flowers out in front of me, pleading her to say yes with my eyes.

She was surprised and her eyes were shining brightly, she nodded quickly and grabbed my face and kissed me slowly.
