The first class that day was Biotechnology. The class had panicked when they discovered the cookie they were supposed to use as an example for bacteria was lost.
"Class, I'm disappointed in you." Mr.Gamoro said.
Cloud stood up. "You should be disappointed of the one in charge of rotting the cookies."
"Maybe he lost the cookie or someone just stole it, whatever silly reasons they have. We just don't know." Mr.Gamoro shook his head. "I am sad to say, that this was a project and you'll be getting zero in performance today."
"Aw! Come on!" the class complained.
"Sorry, can't do anything about it. Your task was simple but the one assigned failed to do it." Mr.Gamoro shrugged.
Elijah stood up from his seat and pounded his fist together."Let's find this guy and beat the crap out of him!"
"Quiet down, class! At least you get your cookies!" he said as the complaints died down. "I'm not stopping you from eating your cookies because you might start an apocalypse."
Cloud raised an eyebrow. "I thought you said we would start World War III."
"Well now I changed it to an apocalypse." Mr. Gamoro barked back. "Anyways," he sighed, "just reheat the cookies over there and you'll get to eat them while in class."
Lunch time came and the Newton students took out their lunches or proceeded to the canteen to buy some food. But those students didn't include Hans and Cloud. They decided to skip lunch to start their secret investigation. The two were sitting at the corner of the classroom, whispering about what they found that morning.
"Don't tell anyone about this investigation or the suspects might prepare fake alibis."Cloud reminded Hans, who nodded in return.
"Someone must've stolen." Hans says, rubbing his chin.
"Or eaten it." Hans looked at Cloud. "What?"Cloud shrugged." It is possible."
"Fine, we'll go for that option first. The person must've become sick after eating a rotten cookie so we'll check who those who are absent first."
"Wrote it down ahead for you" Cloud takes a paper out and hands it to Hans. "I included reasons for why they're absent and other stuff."
Hans inspected the paper. On the paper, it showed:
Jade Unknown- girl who ended up in the clinic because of dysmenorrhea
Proof of dysmenorrhea: Theirs a stain on her skirt and nurse also said she had dysmenorrhea
TJ Talentina- guy who was absent for 2 weeks and is currently hospitalized"This just proves that they aren't the suspects!" Hans slapped the paper with the back of his hand.
"Then why not take a look at this." Cloud took out another piece of paper. How the heck does he get so much information ahead of me! , Hans screamed in his mind, I really need to write God a letter for a refund.
Another paper was handed to Hans and he inspected it. In the paper, it read:
Moo-moo milk-was found discarded on the floor behind the table with the cookies
Dried mud footprints- were already dry and crustyCloud and Hans decided to investigate why there was an empty box of milk first before the footprints.
"Ah! I know how to find whoever bought milk!" Cloud perked up.
"How?"
"The canteen recently installed a CCTV camera a few weeks ago because of students always stealing food. We could see who bought milk."
"Let's go then!" Hans stood up.
"Wait, let me get a paper, I want to write it down."
-----------
So they asked for the tape from the other day. The following people were seen buying milk:
CiloaVillaliz- she bought milk from the canteen but he threw it in the trashcan located near the sinks of the canteen, proving that he didn't bring milk to the classroom.
Angelo Quiamso- bought milk but also threw it in the canteen trashcan
DavidiaAlonsina- bought milk but was seen taking it out the canteen. As Hans inspected the paper, he said, "I think I found the culprit."
"This is so unfair! How can you just say I was involved in all of this?!" DavidiaAlonsina raged, her eyes practically bulging out.
"We didn't say you stole it, but we just think you're a suspect." Cloud said.
Davidia bashed her fist on her armchair. "That's still practically the same!"
"Calm down, we don't want more chaos." Hans frowned.
"I can only calm down when you tell me why I'm a suspect so I can clear those misunderstanding about me which you call 'clues' up." Davidia crossed her arms.
"Fine."Hans challenged. "Listen carefully and clear the earwax out of your ears. I'm not repeating this ever again."
"Go ahead."
"First, since it was raining yesterday, the only after-school practices that took place were basketball, volleyball and soccer. The only practice that took place outdoors was soccer. Davidia was a soccer player."
"Second, the only people allowed to go in the classroom at 6:00 pm were athletes who want to place their things inside their lockers after practice."
"Lastly, the muddy footprint patterns were similar to that of the soccer studs that Davidia had."
Davidia laughed angrily, "That's all the evidence you have?! No way! I'm not the one who stole the cookie!"
"I disagree too, Hans." Cloud said, clearly disappointed in Hans' skills.
Cloud disagreed about it being Davidia because Jone Patty Kamil was also a soccer player with exact same shoe size and shoe design. Jone also admits that he was with Davidia the whole time going back to the classroom and he never even went near the cookies. In fact, the monitors were also still there.
Cloud and Hans then turned their attention to the monitors of yesterday. What were they doing so late? They decided to ask for one of the most reliable sources: ManangPrixy.
According to him, there were still students in the Newton section who were just playing around. When she scolded them, they said to let them stay for a while since Mr.Pina was going to rage on them the next day if they didn't clean. ManangPrixy had no choice but to let them stay and clean but only for 5 minutes or she would force them out. Hans shows ManangPrixy a class picture of Newton. She then points out 8 people:
J Dumingit, Daisy Lamusud, Angelo Quiamso, Xena Barbie, Martha Akane, Mario Romires, Kai Griffindor and Rhey Pains.
When they returned to the Newton room, they found the 8 monitors along with Davidia and Jone Patty huddled together in a group. They seemed to be discussing something. Cloud smiled when she saw that they were all suspects and were conveniently placed together for friendly interrogation.
