My pen tapped against my desk, desperate to come up with an idea for this newly planned building. I had to come up with a design for a swanky, modern looking museum; it was only the rough draft but nothing came to mind. Whenever I started something, I would look back to my research, finding that I had basically copied the pictures I printed off for inspiration. Groaning to myself, I sink back into my chair, rubbing a hand down my face. This was my dream job, I absolutely loved working here, but right now I was a standstill and it was frustrating me to no end.

Reaching for my phone, I checked the time, smiling at the lock screen. It was of Tony, he hadn't known I was taking a picture as he worked in his lab, focusing all his attention on a helmet. I still had two more hours at work, needing to come up with something soon. I decided to take a few minutes to myself, heading out of my office to the staff room. A colleague of mine, Susan, stood waiting for the coffee to brew. We greeted each other, though it was half hearted on her side, her attention on the TV. After setting my mug beside hers, I watched too, suddenly wishing that I had stayed in the office.

"Another meeting was held today with Tony Stark and the board of governors, for their discussion about the protocols needed to protect Earth. However it is reported that the superhero lost his temper over the debate, storming out of the meeting before collapsing."

Susan glanced at me, though my eyes were glued to the TV. Of course everyone knew that he and I were in a relationship, so times like this could be awkward; everyone had their own opinions, most kept to themselves though there was always one that had to speak out.

"Hey, you OK?" she asked.

"Yeah...uh, I gotta call him."

Dashing out of the room, I went back to my office, dialing Tony's number along the way. It rang a few times before he picked up, and I was relieved he was answering.

"Tony, are you alright? I saw what happened on the news." I rushed.

"Yeah, I'm fine. It just got a bit too much, that's all." he replied, his voice drab.

"Thank god. I'll come home now."

"No, no don't worry about me. They checked me over, I'm fine. It's just that the human body can't run on coffee alone. Apparently it needs actual food and sleep, did you know that?"

His sarcasm was a good sign."Funnily enough, I did. If you're sure..."

"(Y/N), I've got Jarvis here, he'll alert you if anything happens, which it won't."

I sighed."OK, OK. I'll text you when I'm coming back. I love you loads."

"I love you too."

I knew not to pry into the situation yet. He was under so much stress, too much stress. And I wanted to speak to him in person. Reluctantly hanging up, I picked up my office phone instead, calling my manager, hoping I could get an early leave.

"Hello?"

"Hey Jerry, it's (Y/N). There's been an emergency at home and I was just wondering if I could get off a little early today? I'll make it up during the week, I promise."

"No can do (Y/N). I need you to stay later actually."

I tried to remain polite."Have you seen the news? Tony collapsed and-"
