Today is my first day at Seattle Grace Hospital. Today is the first day and I'm already lost. I was trying to find the Chief, Dr. Webber, but with all the craziness of my move and the vastness of this building, I was lost. I was on a bridge type thing overlooking most of the hospital. I saw the Chief's office and knocked. I waited for a little, but nobody was answering, so I opened the door. The Chief wasn't in, so I decided to walk to ask some doctors I saw talking.

"l'd like a list. From you of ways that l can improve." A blonde doctor said.

"Not right now." An older man said sternly.

"Richard, you told me that l'm a bad teacher. Now we're number 12, and l don't like to be number  12, - so l'd like a list." The blonde insisted.

"Not right now." Richard replied again.

"But if there are ways that l can improve, ways that l can help the program regain its ranking." The blonde kept insisting.

"lt's snowing. You know what happens when it's nighttime, snowing and the temperature's hovering right around 32 degrees? The snow begins to melt. And then it freezes again creating black ice. The deadliest kind of ice, because it is invisible to drivers. That'd usually mean that our ER would fill up. But Mercy West is a number one level trauma center and we're not. Their ER gets the traumas while we get their castoffs. Which pisses me off. So when l say not right now, what l mean is not right now." Richard yelled.

"Um, excuse me, I'm sorry. I'm Corey Abrams. I'm new here and I'm looking for Chief Webber." I said sweetly.

"You are looking at him." The blonde said before walking away.

"I'm sorry you had to hear that. I'm Chief Webber. Welcome to Seattle Grace. Please, let me show you around" He said before gesturing to follow him.

"Thanks." I said wondering what I got myself into. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"This is the E.R where you'll be spending most of your time." Dr. Webber said as he finished my tour.

"Thank you, Dr. Webber." I said getting ready to start my shift.

"We're lucky to have such an amazing trauma surgeon, Dr. Abrams. Thank you for your service." He said leaving me in the E.R to assess the situation.

I was now in dark blue scrubs with my white lab coat on going around the E.R to get to know where everything was. I looked around and started to introduce myself to people.

"Hi, I saw that you were new here and decided to come over here and introduce myself. I'm Callie, Callie Torres." She said offering me her hand to shake.

I took it and said, "I'm Corey... Abrams. I'm the new trauma attending."

"Attending? You're what twenty-five, twenty-six? How are you an attending?" She asked. "Not to be rude or anything." She clarified.

"It's ok, I'm twenty-seven, actually. I was in the surgical unit in the army. It's more fast-paced there. Lots of experience. Plus, I skipped a few grades, so I'm a young attending." I shrugged.

"That's bad ass! Thank you, for your service." She said.

"Yeah, of course." I said, still unsure of how to answer that. "So, where's all the trauma?" I asked.

"Well, we just got demoted to a level 2 trauma center, so they're all at Mercy West." She said.

"That's great. The one thing I'm good at and it gets sent somewhere else." I said annoyed.

"Don't worry, though I'm sure there will be some cool stuff coming through that door." She said.

"Yeah, I hope so. It was nice to meet you, Callie." I said walking towards some nurses, introducing myself.
