From the darkness of sleep, I heard a soft sound that reminded me of a drum slowly beating to an unknown rhythm. Funnily enough, the soft thudding noise matched my own heartbeat. Soon other senses slowly rose to the surface of my thoughts as an overwhelming sense of warmth entrapped me in its embrace.  Softly moaning in delight, I snuggled closer to the warmth as I ignored the tightening of someone’s arms around my waist.

“Assuming that you are finally awake, Xavier. For the sake of both of our lives, could you please show me your other name?” asked a deep voice that seemed shaky for some reason. My entire body hummed at the sound of that voice, my left wrist seemed to be hotter than the rest of my body for some reason. Frowning at the thought of troubling that person’s voice, I slowly opened my eyes to blurry look into icy blue ones. My mind couldn't translate who exactly I was laying on, but my body was purring like a cat in the handsome man’s embrace.

Nodding my head slowly, I wondered why the man asked for my second name when I had third one. Slowly reaching over to my wrist, I unbuttoned the sleeve and rolled it up as I felt the man’s breath hitch as his heart beat increased underneath me. Finding the slim black seal that covered my soulmates names from view, I slowly slid down the thin gauntlet as the name Gabriel was joined with the name Michael.

“See, my two soulmates.” I mumbled sleepily as I looked back up to the man’s eyes. I frowned at the blank expression on his face as his eyes seemed to become icier.

“You better be up Xavier! Get up before we started showing the embarrassing photos without you!” called out my cousin Aurora as light flooded the dark room. Turning my head as I raised my other hand to peer through the sunlight, I realized I was sitting on a coach in one of the empty viewing rooms at the Funeral Home. Whipping my head around so fast I swear I heard a creak as I stared back into his cold blue eyes and blank face. I could feel my own eyes widening comically as I realized I was sitting in Mr., Hogan’s lap. I was sitting in Raphael’s lap! With my skin gauntlet almost off! I showed him two of my soulmates names! Holy shtick!

With a gasp, I felt no resistance as I tumbled literally out of his arms and onto the floor. Quickly stumbling to a standing position as I set my gauntlet back firmly into place, I barely stopped the gauntlet from sliding off to reveal the third name,

“I am so sorry Mr. Hogan! I better go watch the videos!” I apologized with a shaky laugh before running out of their like the devil was on my heels. The last glimpse I caught of Mr. Hogan was of him sitting in a soaked suit with his arms frozen in an open embrace and his icy gaze staring blanking at the other side of the room.

Running into the main room, all of my mother’s family was circled around a large flat screen TV. Mom peeked over my father’s shoulder as she grinning cheekily at my flustered appearance. “Had fun in Raphael’s arms didn’t you Xavier?” called out Mom as my cheeks burned. My fingers brushing exactly where his name was written on my wrist as the others looked questioning between us.

“Hold on, you mean that Raphael?” asked Austin as his gaze looked at where my fingers rested. “Of course I mean that one. I knew it was him by the way he walked inside with Xavier in his arms. I never saw such a beautiful sight besides in true soulmates.” Mom said with a twinkle in her eye as I quickly sat down beside my older cousin April. Everyone was grinning as they muttered gratitude for the only member who still hasn't met their soulmate.

“Finally Xavier, I was thinking of setting you up on Mark your Mate.com.”

“You’d think that out of all of us, you would find your soulmate first.”

“Good thing you found him. I was ready to start dragging to church with me.”

I rolled my eyes at their antics before looking towards Mom. “Thing is I don’t know if his soulmates name is mine.” I said softly as Mom’s face fell. She patted my left wrist before smiling up at me. “Well I’m sure you two will get to that point eventually. It took me a couple of months before your father would share his real name with me.” Mom said softly as she smiled goofy at Dad.
