Fei's POV
We made our way back to the village, Katara and I fearing the reaction of our tribe. After some of the kids yelled, Sokka and GranGran walked up with angry looks.
"I knew it, you signaled the fire navy with that flare! You're leading them straight to us!" Sokka exclaimed, stepping forward.
"Aang didn't do anything, it was a accident!" I said together with Katara.
"Yeah, we were on the ship, and there was this booby trap and well... we boobied right into it". Aang said, rubbing his head.
GranGran was blaming Katara and me for putting the tribe at risk. "Don't blame them", Aang said. "I brought them there. It's my fault". He look down sorrowfully.
Sokka accused Aang of being a traitor and ordered the children to get away from him.
I gasped.
"Sokka, you're making a mistake!" Katara stepped in, trying to resonate with him but he won't listen.
"No, I'm keeping my promise to Dad and Uncle. I'm protecting the two of you, from threats like him". Sokka argued. Hearing that he mentions my father makes me cry.
"Aang is not our enemy!" Katara yelled. "Don't you see, Aang's brought us something we haven't had in a long time. FUN".
I take Aang's hand and say to Sokka, "Please don't do this. Aang is the only one who can understand my loneliness". Aang looks at me with confusion and wants to ask me something, but Sokka, hearing what Katara and I say, gets more angry.
"FUN?" Questioned Sokka. "We can't fight fire benders with fun! and, Fei please, understand if the Fire Nation discovers your heritage they will hunt you."
Aang looks at me worried, but does not lose the opportunity to suggested Sokka. "You shoul try it sometimes." Aang squeezes my hand when Sokka yells at him to leave. Katara and I try to ask GranGran to intervene but she agrees with Sokka.
"Fine!" I cried. "Then I'm banished too!"
I pulled him towards Appa with Katara following.
"Where you two think you're going?" Sokka asked, sternly.
"To find Katara a waterbender!" I exclaimed and saw Katara face light up. "Aang is taking us to the North Pole and on the way I will go to the place where granfather and my father one lived".
"Fei". Katara said happily although part of her is angry.
"Fei! Katara!" Sokka shouted, stopping us. "Would you really choose him over your tribe? Your own family?"
He knows that Katara and I love our family, but for my Aang is also family.
"Fei, Katara, I don't want to come between you and your family". Aang told us sadly.
I don't like this, I don't want Aang to leave.
"So, you're leaving the South Pole?" Katara sadly asked.
I cry and said to Aang. "So this is goodbye?"
Aang tries to dry the tears from my face and with a smile says, "Thanks for penguin sledding with me!"
"Where will you go?" Katara asked.
He move toward Appa. "Gues I'll go back home and look for the airbenders". He then realized something. "Wow, I haven't cleaned my room in a hundred years. Not looking forward to that".
I smile slightly. Even in sad moments, he looks on the bright side.
Aang airbended onto Appa's head and looked at us. I hugged Katara and she hugged back.
