three years later
two and a half years since Alexei asked me to be his girlfriend.
with Murray and i's help, Alexei has become almost completely fluent in english. after a long and hard process, he is an american citizen.

right now i'm sitting in the bathroom of the house Alexei and i bought last year. a small stick with two red lines in my hand.
"shit"
i start panicking. i was pregnant. we weren't even married, and i didn't know if Alexei wanted kids or not.

i sighed, putting the stick in my makeup bag, where he definitely wouldn't look.

i walked out of the bathroom, and into the living room. the front door opened, and Alexei walked in.

"im home!" he said in his cute accent as he placed his stuff on the couch.

i smiled at him, "hey, hon."

"whats the matter?" he looked concerned as he walked over and wrapped his arms around my waist. and i dont know what it was about what he said that made me start crying. "oh no, what happened? Maria, my love, what happened?"

"im pregnant, Alexei, and we're not married, and i dont know if you even want kids, but i love you. i love you and i want you to know that no matter what im keeping this baby, even if you leave me- which i really hope you dont, i dont want to be a single mother. but at the same time i get it, and-"

"Maria?"

"yeah?"

"youre pregnant?" he moved his hands to my stomach and i put my hands on his.

"yeah." my voice cracked.

his face grew a huge grin, and he picked me up and twirled me, "youre having a baby! я собираюсь стать отцом!"

i giggled, happy that he was excited.

"marry me." he told me.

my heart stopped. "what?"

"marry me! you are with child, and i love you and- and-"

"and i love you, alexei. let's do it, let's get married."

and so we did. we got married. it was a small wedding, only about 20 people were invited, all of them our friends and my relatives. alexei didn't know his family.
a few months after the wedding, i gave birth to a healthy baby girl. we named her Mary Marie. and for the rest of our lives, we were happy.

THE END
