Last weekend was definitely the most fun I've had since...........ha! I don't even remember.
When I made it back from the supermarket that evening, everyone was there already. And there was a civil war between Dave and Leah over whether we should watch End Game or How To Train Your Dragon 3.
Obviously, Dave won.But partly only because he threatened to eat Leah's last Twix bar.
On Sunday, we decided to go to church. After church, we went...... drum roll...... GO CARTING! That was surprisingly successful, seeing as we didn't get kicked out, banned temporarily or for life, or arrested. Yes, that actually happened in college. Caleb thought it would be cool to stand while the Ferris wheel was moving......
We did it.........then got arrested.
On the ride to work, I remember what happened to me on Friday, I'm on so many meds right now, it's hard to keep track of what I'm supposed to take when. At least now my head doesn't feel like a carousel. I wonder what hospital that is.
"C.?"I call out.
"Hmm?"
"What hospital did you take me to on Friday.?"I ask looking out the window.
"Oh Aiden's."he says nonchalantly without missing a beat,but my mouth can't drop any lower.
I laugh humorlessly before asking, "You mean the hospital Aiden goes to?.... like when he's sick?"I ask, my voice going an octave higher.
"First of all, you're doing that thing with your voice.....keep the freak...IN."he says, pointing at me. "Second...no, he owns the hospital, it's the best in the state actually."he says again.
Deep breath, deep breath, deeeppp breeaaathh. Wooh!
The guy who looks and acts like he doesn't give a fuck about anything, especially not anyone,owns a damn hospital.
Okay.... Okay.... Ooookayyy......
That was.........something.
Caleb and the gang don't know about my last meet with Aiden. I didn't want to ruin our weekend of fun. I'll just tell them later. Caleb pulls into the underground parking area of the office.
Few minutes later, we walk towards the board room for a meeting I scheduled with a few agents from other firms. I might be a total goof, but anyone can see that my job means the world to me. I clear my throat while taking a seat at the head of the long table, Caleb taking the seat beside me on my left.
"Good morning everyone. As you all know, the R.E.O. of state is arranging a general m-" I'm cut off when the door of the room opens and shuts,and the Grinch himself strolls in. Eyes glued to his phone. He's in a black t-shirt and a gold chain around his neck with a pair of washed out jeans. Snap out of it Evelyn!
He walks to the side of the room where there are a few couches and a coffee table by the window. He plops down in one of the couches and throws his legs up on the table. At this point all eyes are on him and when it becomes obvious that he is not moving from where he is, they turn to me. I smile a little too wide and hold up a finger.
"Just one sec." I say standing up and walking to where Aiden is sitting, widening my eyes as I do.
"Are you absolutely insane!?!?"
He looks up at me with a blank expression.
