falling, falling

ennui times three, ennui in me, ennui
concentrated in a tiny sea: speculations
floating out and around me, nameless specimens
drowning at my very feet
the realization, too late: that I can't make ends meet
sloshing around on my nonexistent planet
water pouring out in streams through gravity
weight cracking the planet from the seams
thought process falling, tectonic plates
trying to knit themselves together; other planets
are held together, why not me?
I ask, breaking through my reverie, hurtling through
dark matter at lightning speeds.

it's been a hot minute.

(I thought about kaminari denki when I wrote "lightning" and his face momentarily disrupted my flow lmao)
