I feel like this happiness-sucking leech that everyone wishes was dead.

Elle sighed deeply, already feeling drained not even a moment after waking up. But she felt confused at the lack of blinding sun in her eyes.

Groaning softly under her breath, she tried to fall back asleep and ignore the many questions, but quickly gave up when her throat started hurting.

Opening her eyes, she looked toward the clock, feeling a little surprised when she saw that it was the middle of the night. Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, she sat up, causing an 'oof' from someone by her head.

Looking down, she saw Edgy laying sprawled out on his back, a bit of drool hanging out of his mouth as he immediately passed out again. As she tried not to laugh, she turned toward Blue, seeing him laying across her thigh on his side, having apparently been thrown off her stomach when she sat up.

Carefully lifting him up, she placed him beside Edgy, making them both stir slightly before falling back asleep. Sighing in relief, Elle stood up, being careful not to move the bed as she rubbed again at her eyes.

Forcing down a cough, she walked out her already open bedroom door, feeling too tired to question it as she walked into the dark kitchen.

Opening the fridge, she quickly chugged a water bottle, satisfying her sudden thirst as her sore throat faded. Thankful the pain wasn't because she was sick, she scanned the fridge for any good snacks.

Picking up a block of cheese, she closed the fridge and quickly ate it before throwing away the now empty bottle. She collapsed onto the couch, her eyes empty as she sighed and stared at the ceiling.

She didn't know why she felt so numb. She had a best friend, a loving sister, and a friend-in-denail. Why did she still have such dark thoughts? Why isn't she better? Whats wrong with her?

Elle had a sickening feeling in her stomach as she glanced toward the medicine cupboard, a familiar urge pumping through her. Standing up, she shakily walked toward the cabinets, her heart thumping out of her chest as she reached for the handle.

"Elle?"

She nearly jumped out of her skin as she immediately spun around, her hand placed over her heart as she suppressed a scream.

Blue stood on the floor, his eyebrows furrowed together as his gaze flickered between the cabinet and Elle, who was sweating bullets as she tried to come up with an excuse.

"Blue, what are you doing up? I was just getting cough medicine." She choked out, her heart hurting from lying to him and for breaking her promise to see him for help.

"Sorry, I Didnt Mean To Scare You. I Was Just Worried. And A Little Thirsty." He shrugged, a smile on his face as he summoned a floating skull, using it as a lift onto the counter as he stood between Elle and the cabinet.

She swallowed thickly, noticing that he knew she lied to him. His smile slowly faded as he sighed, rubbing a hand over his eyes. "Elle, I Really Care About You. You're My Best Friend. I Feel Like We're Family, Even. I Worry About You Constantly. Why Do You Do This To Yourself? I Try So Hard To Help But I Dont Know What To Do."

His eyesockets watered as his gaze lowered, making Elle feel a crushing guilt that knocked the air out of her lungs. "I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry Blueberry.. I don't know what's wrong with me. I swear I'm trying, but it's so hard."
