It's now 2:36 am. Will is still tossing and turning about what Mike said. No, not Jucas, but that he likes him.
'I thought it would be impossible.' Will whispered softly to himself so he wouldn't wake up anyone, it was truly incredible how Will Byers- a boy like him would have such an amazing boy like Mike Wheeler like him back.
'How did I end up so lucky?' Will was wondering, so even this early in the morning, he called Mike.
The Wheeler house was as quiet as ever- that's usually how it was at night. Except for this night. An unexpected phone rang in Mike's bedroom, startling him. He quickly jumped out of bed to answer it.
'I swear if it's telemarketers- Hello Wheeler house Mike speaking.'
The Wheelers had a strick rule that they had to answer the phone like that. Eveyone obeyed it but Karen.
'Hi Mike it's Will-'
'Will what are you doing calling me at 2:40 in the morning?!' Mike whispered yelled at Will, but knowing Will it startled him a little.
'S-sorry I just couldn't stop thinking about what you told me.'
'That Lucas and Jerry hook up?'
'No, that you like me.'
As Will said that Mike started to blush. His cheeks turning a very faint rosie pink.
'Um, yea. So, anything else you wanna talk about?'
'I actually have a question, why me?'
These words shocked Mike. He never really knew why he liked Will he just did. From time to time he misses El, but in a friend way. Will ment everything to Mike. From that moment in the swing set in kindergarten to now- Will ment the world to Mike.
'I-i don't really know why you, it just is.' Mike clearly lied about this, he knew exactly why Will, he just wasn't ready to tell him.
'Oh, ok. Well I better let you go back to sleep and I should get some. See ya tomorrow- er later.'
'Bye Will the Wise.'
Will smiled as he hung up the phone and hot back in his bed. Getting comfortable, he slowly drifted asleep.
Mike on the other hand couldn't get back to sleep until an hour later. He couldn't believe he lied it his childhood best friend- and teen crush. He was overwhelmed with regret and a little shame. Will found out that I like him so he's clearly going to find out that I lied to him, Mike thought to himself. He chose to wait until school to tell Will why him
