Well, that went well, I think. Harper didn't speak much during our various trip venture while in the city. After she suggested Lucifer would handle the expenses of today, I felt oddly satisfied knowing that I could drive a stake, not through his heart but his wallet. While I am not sure what his plans for me entail, I know that him keeping the details from me left my blood boiling.

To make matters worse, I hate shopping. Like seriously hate that word and everything it stands for, but that didn't matter today. Settling with the bare minimum of essentials, I still managed to rack up some price tags along the journey. When we finally got back to where Lucifer lives, I realized that Envy was right below us, which means I found a new way to blow off some steam.

Since I don't have a room in this single bedroom penthouse, I took a shower in Lucifers bathroom. Without my bath soaps and shampoo, I ended up smelling like him at the end of my steamy relaxation. One thing I love about myself is the way my natural curls bounce with volume as they dry, so instead of fixing my hair into a straight appearance, as usual, I let the curl flow. I applied a minimal amount of makeup, just a little eyeliner, and mascara; my look is complete.

Next- an outfit, the perfect time to try on one of the outfits Lucifers credit card purchased for me. Picking the royal blue cocktail dress seemed perfect with my skin tone and hair color, the only thing about it that alarmed me is the exposure. Full coverage of my breasts but it sits too high on my thighs, and the open back made it impossible to wear a bra. The skin-tight fabric made it visible to have on either a bra or panties, so I settled with commando. My plan was not to get laid but to entice a few glances at least to make myself feel wanted.

Hardly ever do I have time to romance, but since Lucifer decided I can't go home right now to return to my lifestyle, I will make time now. Except for the babysitter that seems to have gotten stuck up my ass all day. She can go because I don't think we get along very well. She is brooding and invasive, but in a silent way, where I am outgoing and rely on communication. I miss Trina already, plus if I could get my hands on a cell phone, I could reach out and ask for help.

"Oh no, you don't," Harper voiced her opinion on how my night was going to happen when she suddenly steps into the bedroom area to find me dressed as such. Since Lucifer was so kind as to buy my night ensemble, I would put it to good use by dancing and drinking. At least I can relax a bit while he leaves me with some stranger all damn day. "Oh, yes, I do, and you can't stop me. I want a few drinks," I admitted and accepted my appearance before brushing past Harper towards the living room.

"There is booze here in the penthouse, you can't go down there alone," Harper fussed like an overprotective mother not wanting her child to leave the nest. Only I am not her kid, and she is nothing close to my mother. Before I could get to the elevator that would no doubt connect to the nightclub below, Harper stepped in front of me to block the entrance. "I won't be alone; I have you watching, remember?" I tried to make up an excuse, and it seemed to work because she slipped aside into the metal trap before I did, but she kept by my side as the doors closed and the elevator began to lower.

"I do not approve, and Lucifer will be angry no doubt," Harper whined as if I were listening. Once I broke from her side, and the elevator doors opened hastily, I made a beeline straight for the bar. Of course, she trailed behind me with my pace, and instead of sitting beside me, she went behind the bar and looked at me with an annoyed glance. "What are you having?" She huffed.

"So you babysit and bartend? I did not see that coming-" I chuckled and shot the choice selection behind her a glance over. "Got any Skyy vodka?"

Whipping out a glass from below the bar top, Harper turned to find the specific vodka I asked for, "just straight? On rocks?"

"Uh- however you fix it, doesn't matter."

Once my drink was fixed, she handed me the glass with a quarter of liquid-filled up. I smiled and gave her an empty cheer before downing the contents, a burning sizzled down my throat and settled as heat in my chest. Once finished, I set the glass down and took off towards the dance floor.

With loud music beating overhead in the speakers looming over the night club, my body began feeling the rhythm of each beat. Moving along with the tempo, I let my hips away and dip, however, felt natural. From across the club, I could see Harper eyeing me warily, but she made no move to stop me. Merging through the dancing bodies which littered the crowded dance floor, I blended into my surrounds — dancing against men, women, anyone who moved at my pace and gave in to their exotic wills.

A pair of arms snaked around my waist, an unfamiliar touch, while warm breath fanned against my neck, leaving tiny kisses. Not wanting to stop myself, I felt alive, free even. Not thinking of Lucifer or the captivity he may want to subject me to, nor the fact that all these years raising Noah kept me in the dark. "You like this?" A male whispered against my ear, his voice seductive and sultry but I didn't get aroused from him. Yes, I wanted to feel touched, but I knew that this dancing would lead nowhere.

"Maybe," I shrugged and turned to look at the man who had sensually danced with me, only to find he was nothing like what I expected. Tall and handsome, but not the kind of guy I had ever come across on my terms. Lust filled the green eyes of the bronze-skinned man; his dark hair spiked in the front with gel no doubt. The short sleeve tee shirt he wore clung against his buff pectorals, his muscled arms tightly wound below the seams of his shirt. We danced against each other, grinding and moving at a pace that drowned the rhythm of the current song until I forgot what song was even playing. "Wanna get out of here?" He leaned down to whisper in my ear again but before I could answer, my gaze crossed his shoulder to lock with the blazing golden hues of Lucifer's hardened orbs.

Before I had the chance to decline the invitation, the man was reaching for my hand and pulling me across the dance floor towards the exit. Why didn't I want to go with him? It wasn't for lack of his good looks, nor his weaseled attempts at taking me to bed, but instead, it had to do with the tug in my chest. Where I don't know nor understand what Lucifer wants from me, I still felt debted to him for Noah's life. As it stands, he truly is the reason Noah survived, and it had to do with the fact I made a deal. That honesty to myself is the reason I felt like this action would betray Lucifer, and possibly cause him to end our contract and revoke Noah's life. "I don't-" I began to object, but before my sentence could come forth, I felt Lucifer before I knew he was behind me.

Clenching in my gut told me he stands behind me now, but the second notion would be the way the stranger released his clutch on my hand and stepped away with wide eyes. "S-sorry, I h-had no idea she was yours," no words exchanged elsewhere, and the man darted off back into the sea of bodies that surrounded us. With a sigh, I turned to find my hunch was correct, Lucifer stands with his hands tucked into his pockets. "Having fun love?" He grinned and flashed a bright smirk.

"I was, well, I am. Wanna dance?" I felt the need to at least offer, since this is his club, his house, and I am his contract. Lucifer surprised me when he declined my offer, turning his back to me to walk back towards the bar to Harper, who wore a smug look on her face as well. Confused at his notion, I was left wondering what his angle is on our relationship. What does he want from me, and why am I here? I can't understand why he needs me, and it seems as though it has nothing to do with me sensually, right? If it had, would he have walked away without a single frisk or touch? Now dressing up seemed far less critical, and all I wanted to do was get out of this fancy dress, and go to bed.
