- So... what will it be?

- A gin tonic.

- You know, you could have ordered two.

- Excuse me?

- I'm just saying, I could have made them both at the same time.

- I wasn't sure what I wanted to order.

- What was the other option?

- Cuba Libre.

- I see.

This kind of talk was exactly the last thing I needed right now, given all the bad things I had gone through lately. To be honest, I probably wouldn't have even noticed him or payed to much attention to him, if it weren't for his big mouth and his cocky, know-it-all attitude.

I don't really pay too much attention to people in general, that's unless they somehow manage to catch my eye and make me curious to find out more about them. And this guy, as annoying as he was, was at the same time kind of fascinating and had something that captivated me.

When it comes to the type of guys that usually catch my eye and attention, I have to say I do have a thing for cocky guys. Cocky might be a bit too harsh of a word, let's just say I like guys who seem like they have a lot of self confidence. I am talking about so much self confidence, it's hard for people around them to handle it.

Also, although it might make me seem superficial, I am attracted to handsome guys. And when I say handsome, I mean those guys that have a really pretty face and look way younger than they actually are. Actually, I like handsome guys and much as I like cocky guys, so I'm entering a danger zone as soon as both these qualities are found in the same person. This guy had them both, plus a big mouth and the ability to make me mad, without putting in too much effort.

I am an extremely calm person, yet somehow he managed to get on my nerves just seconds after opening his mouth for the first time ever. You could probably say about me that I am a masochist but the truth is, I was never as turned on as I was right then and there.

- The bartender is kind of hot.

- Maybe.

- Oh, please. You are totally into him.

- He is kinda of handsome, I have to admit that.

- I knew it!

- I only said he is kind of handsome.

- Go on and flirt a little bit.

- With him?

- Why not?

- Why would I do that?

- I noticed the way you were looking at him.

- I was looking at him the same way I would look at any other hot guy.

- Yeah, right.

- So be it, you win. I might like him, are you happy?

- I knew it!

- Maybe it wouldn't hurt anyone if I would flirt with him.

- I told you.

- I won't though.

- Why not?

- Because I didn't get out tonight to pick up guys.

- It's just for fun, you could use having some fun.

- As much as I would love to follow your advice, let's not forget I already did that last month and look where it got me.

- That's a whole other story, it's not your fault that guy turned out to be gay.

- Tonight I just wanna enjoy myself, drink cocktails and maybe not fall in love with anyone.

- No one said that you have to fall in love with someone.

- I know.

- Just... flirt.

- With the bartender?

- With any person you want to flirt with.

Half an hour later, my friend went to the bar to order another round of gin tonic, while I was still sipping on my first one. I noticed that the bartender was looking at me, while making the gin tonic for my friend.

- Are you girls sure you don't want two?

I showed him my glass of gin tonic, which was half full, so he shut his mouth and kept doing his thing.

Over the night, all I tried to do was have fun and try not to think about all the bad things that had happened to me in the past few months. For the next hours I spent at that club I, at all times, had a glass of gin tonic in my hands. I always say I will never again drink because of a guy, but I somehow manage to end up with a bottle of wine right beside me.

This time, I replaced wine with gin tonic.
