"Ahhh Maddie I'm so excited" She squeals
"I know daisy me too! I can't believe that tomorrow we'll be in a plane together going to America for a whole fucking year!" I squealed back
Daisy's my best friend, and I'm so glad she's the one I get to be in America with. We're both going over there for a one year exchange, I'm staying with the Dolan family. My host mothers name is Lisa, she has a daughter Cameron who's 19 and two sons, Ethan and Grayson who are 17 so just a little older than me (im 16). Cameron's in college so I won't really get to see her much but Lisa said she'll be there to welcome me.
That's all I really know about my host family, I haven't gotten to see pictures of them but I have been emailing Lisa for the past three weeks organising little things and getting to know each other a little bit and we called once. I haven't gotten the chance to talk to the boys or Cameron but from judging how Lisa was over the phone, I assume they are lovely.
"Alright Dais, I better go have a shower and get to bed if you want me awake on the plane aha" I giggle
" true true, see you in the morning love you bestie byeee" she squeals and I laugh
"Love ya too girl, good night" we hang up.
I go to my wardrobe and check if there's anything I'm missing. My mum and dad have given me a lot of money to buy pretty much all new things when I get there since it's winter over there and summer here but I packed stuff for at least a week just Incase and anything else I needed.
I have been saving up a lot of money myself so that I can buy extra things of my own like a new phone and stuff like that. I shut my wardrobe door and head to the shower before going to bed.
- next day at the airport
" I'm going to miss you so much sweetie" my mum pulls me into a long, tight hug
"Awe please don't cry, you know I'll cry too. I already miss you so much" we let go of the hug
"Promise me you'll be safe and on your best behaviour, we have Lisa's number incase" my dad hugs me and gives me a light kiss on the head
"I promise you guys, plus I have daisy in school with me to keep me in line. No need to worry and I'll call you guys at least 3 times a week" we all smile at each other and I see tears in mums eyes
"Come here, one last family hug" they squish me in the middle but I take it in.
I hear our flight get called through the speakers, daisy and I say out last good byes and head to our gate. We get in the plane and find out seats, Daisy grabs my hand as we take off.
"In less than 13 hours we'll be in LA" I look at daisy
"I can't wait to meet our host families, and go to American school together, and find some hot American boyfriends" she winks And I giggle.
"Ahah shh. Let's watch a movie" she nods and we find a movie to occupy us.
