I always considered life as just one of the many lives I would live, so if I committed suicide or died, I would just relive the same life over and over again.

Sounds pretty depressing right? Not really.

Hi, my name is Cassie, and this is how my life changed...

We started off the first day of junior year with a bang, literally. I got up to the sound of a gunshot... frightened, I pull the covers up over my head, and cradle myself. My back facing my semi-open bedroom door, I look out my window on the other side of the room. The moon is about halfway up in the sky.

Midnight.

Attempting, and almost succeeding in controlling my breathing, I begin to take deep breaths.
I felt my chest tighten, and I could hear the wheezing coming out as a breathe. My lungs felt like they were burning... I could feel my heart beating to the point where my throat was beginning to feel raspy and dry. Desperately, I reach my bedside table, and in the darkness, I fling my arms on the surface searching for my inhaler.
Eventually, I felt the inhaler on the tip of my fingers and I grab hold of it.
I tried to make myself sit up, but my fear kept taking over me... filling my brain with tons of questions and disturbing images.

I will myself up, and use the inhaler. I feel the spritz of refreshing air fill up my lungs.
Almost immediately, the acidic burning pain disappears.

I lean onto my left forearm, balancing my weight onto it while I reach over onto my bedside table and put back my inhaler.

About midway, I felt this... intense feeling, as thought someone was glaring at my back...

Tears started welling up in my eyes, as I ball my hands into a fist and shove it in my mouth to muffle up my scream, this made me loose my balanced and I fell over onto my side.

At this point, I was fully awake. I knew something was staring at me, from my bedroom door.

I heard the gun cock.

With no hesitation, knowing I had just seconds left, I  used all my power to let out a scream, I put my arms over my head and bring my knees up to my chest in a fetile position, and forced my eyes shut.

I heard the gunshot, and everything went white.

I woke up to my alarm... 8.00
Half an hour before school starts.
I took a moment to catch my breath, I looked over to my door... it was shut.
It was all just a dream.

I release myself from the comfort of my bed, and dried my tears. Realising the time, I run to my closet and grab my school uniform (boring gray collared T-shirt with the black skirt, and tights since it was the middle of December.)

I run a brush through my hair and grab my iconic hoops. I grab my book bag, and run down the stairs whilst slinging the very heavy bag over my shoulder.

"mOoom!! I woke up late, don't have time for breakfast, running out he door love ya bye!!"
I yell towards the kitchen whilst running to the door.

I turn the knob, and pull on the heavy oak door... and let my eyes adjust to the light outside and I feel the cold air of the December morning rush through me, giving me goosebumps.

I step out onto the porch, allowing the sun to lay its warmth over me.

I shut my eyes and breathe in the refreshing air...

I open my eyes to a hooded figure holding a gun to my head... and heard the trigger click.
