"My heart beats for you."

Yuqi felt a vice on her heart; loneliness. She felt it whenever she was away from Namjoon. It suffocated her. Even the wind that blew against her, didn't stay for long. Neither did the leaves, nor her parents.

"Everyone leaves."

She didn't know why she agreed to come to the carnival, knowing fully well that she'd be alone. But she could never say no to Namjoon.

She was surrounded by a large crowd of kids, teenagers and adults, all of them were enjoying themselves, whether with their family, friends or lovers.

But she was alone, like always.

Yuqi's heart started racing when she noticed Namjoon, standing with his group of friends. He was wearing a dark blue t-shirt and jeans, even a simple attire made him look so handsome. He made the guys around him look like baboons.

His eyes met hers and she froze. She didn't know what to do or how to act, she felt nervous.

Namjoon smiled as he looked at her but he didn't come towards her. He never did, when he was surrounded by his friends.

"It would probably be rude to leave his friends like that." Yuqi thought.

She saw a girl standing near him, a little too close. She was pretty, pretty enough to do whatever she wanted and get away with it. She rolled her eyes as she followed Namjoon's gaze.

She wrapped her arm around Namjoon's shoulder and inched her way towards him. She quickly placed her arms around his neck and stole a kiss before he pushed her away. He was surprised, confused but too nice to do anything about it.

The girl looked at Yuqi again mockingly, she didn't say anything but the look on her face was enough to show was she was thinking, 'Back off.'

Who the heck is that girl?

Why is she so close to him?

Why did he let her do it?

Are they already dating?

Why did he push her away?

Why? Why? Why is this happening?

She felt anxious, all the thinking made her want to throw up and that's when she realised that she couldn't handle it anymore. She had to tell Namjoon how she felt, even if he rejected her, it would be okay, because at least, he would know how she felt.

With adrenaline coursing through her veins, Yuqi opened her phone and saw that it was about to be midnight soon. She quickly sent Namjoon a text, asking him to meet her near the ferris wheel.

Her heart was racing so quickly as if she ran a whole mile, without stopping for breath. She felt as if she was drowning, getting farther and farther away from the surface until she'd be lost, forever.

What if Namjoon doesn't show up?
What if he doesn't want to meet me?

Her thoughts were stopped short when she turned around and there was Namjoon, standing in front of her, his hands in his pockets and lips stretched into a warm smile.

"Hey," He whispered as he took a step closer and placed his hand on her cheek, "I missed you."

"I- me too," Yuqi mumbled shyly, "Do you want to ride the Ferris wheel with me?" She asked pointing at the ride as her eyes sparkled with excitement.

Namjoon blushed as he nodded his head and grabbed her hand. He quickly bought the tickets and the two were ushered inside a capsule.

The wheel started turning and Yuqi sucked in a breath as it stopped right at the top. The sky looked like dark mulberry silk adorned with millions of little pearls. Yuqi watched as Namjoon stared at them adorably.

"Namjoon," She began softly, "I have to tell you something."

Her heart raced wildly, she couldn't think straight, all she wanted to do was confess.

"I- I love you," She whispered as she looked outside, the world looked so small from the top, so meaningless, as if nothing existed except for them, "I've liked you for as long as I can remember and I understand if you want to reject me but yeah... I love you Namjoon. I love you a lot."

She felt tears brimming in her eyes as minutes passed and Namjoon didn't say a word, he didn't move or react at all. Ropes tightened around her stomach as she felt her throat tighten.  She looked down, trying to hold her tears in.

"Me too," He spoke softly after a while, "I love you, Yuqi."

He didn't waste another second and pulled Yuqi close, his lips met hers as they both closed their eyes.

Yuqi felt Namjoon smile when they heard the fireworks going off in the distance.

Bright sparks erupted and scattered across the sky. They burst through the darkness and ignited the black sky with artificial rainbows.

The fireworks were loud and vivid but the couple was busy embracing each other, declaring their feelings by actions rather than words.

It was perfect, as perfect as Yuqi's first kiss could be.
