"And every time I see you, I fall in love a little more."x
"Yuqi, where are you?" The boy exclaimed, his blue orbs brimming with confidence.
"I'll find you! I always do." He said as he slowly walked along the footpath.
The sky was covered in pale, grey clouds crying icy tears of ecstasy. They were full of moisture, as the small flakes of snow dropped down the sky. The ground was covered in a thick, pearl coat of snow and Namjoon watched in awe as the newly fell crystals became a part of it.
The sun set igniting various hues of orange and yellow that exploded in the sky and sparkled on the beds of diamonds. They reminded him of Yuqi's pale, charming face.
The pair of ravens resting on the lamppost fluttered their wings to clear the snow from their feathers and cuddled together to escape the cold. In a way, he envied them.
Ravens; because of their charcoal feathers, croaking call and diet of decaying flesh were supposed to be an omen of bad luck and loss, but right now, they were just desperate creatures trying to survive.
A snowflake landed on Namjoon's nose and melted by the warmth of his body, making him sneeze. His wine coloured coloured hair flew around erratically from the icy breeze that blew by. The trees shivered in the cold as their naked branches became embellished with snow, dying but not quite dead.
"You know, I can see you." He laughed quietly, as he turned towards the snow-covered bench next to the tall naked tree.
He could see a girl's head poking from the edge, "Found you," He whispered to himself, as his lips curled into a smile and a dimple appeared on his cheek.
"Yah!" He yelled making the girl jump and hit her head on the bench, "Ouch! Why did you do that?"
"Oh shit, sorry, I didn't mean to." He apologised as he smiled gently at the short girl in front of him.
Her mahogany hair were wavy and frizzy, she smiled, sticking out her tongue, "You were right, you always find me, Namjoon."
"I have to tell you something." The boy said, his usual confidence had disappeared and he sounded hesitant and nervous. "I- uh,"
Namjoon felt his heart racing, he promised himself that he would confess but why was he so scared?
What if she says no?
The thought emerged in his mind and he grew anxious by each passing second.
The two had been best friends since middle school and he didn't want to ruin it all now. He was scared, terrified that she would say no and would walk away from him... Forever.
"What it is?" Yuqi asked curiously, she tilted her head and stared at him with her doe-like eyes and that's when Namjoon realised how adorable she looked that way.
"I-uh, think we should go home now. It's getting late." He sighed, chickening out of the idea of confessing to Yuqi.
"Aww already? She exclaimed, waving her arms around, "But I was having so much fun."
"I was too." He smiled gently and patted her head, "But it's late now. Come on, I'll walk you home."
"Fine." She shivered and folded her arms.
Namjoon quickly took off his jacket and clumsily placed it over her head. The girl shook her head at him as she wore the jacket properly.
"You don't have to..."
"But I want to," He smiled and shook his head, "I can't have you sneezing all over me."
"Hey! Meanie." Yuqi pouted making Namjoon's heart flutter.
Every second Yuqi was with him, she felt as if adrenaline was endlessly injected right into her bloodstream. Her skin tingled every time they touched and she felt as if electricity would spark out of her finger tips.
The happiness she felt with him didn't just give her butterflies in her stomach, she felt like she would start throwing up rainbows.
The way Namjoon smiled, the way he covered his face when he was embarrassed, the way he got loud when he was exited, the way he accidentally broke things and nearly set the kitchen on fire while trying to cook. She loved it all, she loved Namjoon but was too scared to admit it.
Yuqi would fall asleep thinking about him and wake up filled with joy because she got to spend another day with him.
Everyday, every hour, every second, she fell for him more. Her heart raced to the rhythm of his breathing. He was her everything.
She waved Namjoon goodbye as she stood on her doorstep, watching as his figure turn smaller and smaller, until it disappeared.
Yuqi sighed as she unlocked the door, "It's just me, again."
