Marcus and I were on the bus, going home. It was a decent ride, other than the fact that I had no clue what direction we were going. We were conversing, actually having a normal chat. "You're pretty cool for a brother", I said.

"Thanks, you're not so bad for a little brother either", Marcus answered. We continued talking about things like what kind of friends we had, and comparing our lives. "Hey, this is our stop" he said. As we approached the exit, the bus driver took a sharp turn and as I looked through the window, all I could see was blood splattered. I ran out the bus before Marcus could stop me and gasped at the woman the bus driver ran over. I had no idea who she was, but I knew Marcus did by the way he was crying. "Mom", he whimpered. "That's mom". The tears were hot, running down my cheeks. As Marcus was calling the cops, I took another last look at the bus driver before he ssped off. It was Frank, one of dad's close friends. Did dad send Frank here to spy on us? I already knew the answer was yes, but I didn't know how I was to explain this to Marcus.

Its 2:00 am. Marcus and I are waiting to hear the results. Is mom ok? What if she... I had to cut myself short. The woman who I never met before was just hit by a bus. Finally, a blonde nurse comes with a paper in her hand. At first I don't know whether or not I should trust her, because she seems like a steriotype. "I have the results", she said. No shit, I thought as I stared at the bitch. "It looks like she's ok, but it will probably take a week or two for her to recover. You can see her now if you like." As she was giving more information to Marcus, I went to the room and kneeled by mom's side. What shooked me most was that her eyes were closed.

"Hi mom" I murmered. My voice was so quiet that it shook me a little. "I really wanted to give a proper introduction, but not like this". My voice seemed to trail off and on, which got on my nerves. "I don't want you to see my as the kid who cries for anything, but I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I believed dad's stupid lies. When you wake up, Marcus and I will be here. I'll always be your 'too unique' child." Moments passed as the silence brokeout in the room. Both Marcus and the nurse came in, Marcus looking happier than usual.

"I just finished talking to your brother and, it seems like we can get your mother home today." The nurse said. "As long and she stays on her pills for another week, she'll be alright." Wow, this blonde was pretty smart. During the ride home, I sat in the front passenger side while Marcus and mom were talking, her voice soft yet gentle. As soon as we got home, I was escorted by myself to the living room. Marcus was walking with mom slowly to the couch. As soon as he was done assisting her, he took me to his room. He was older than me, yet we both shared the same minds and I looked through his collection of games.

"You can stay here for the night, but tomorrow I gotta get you to practice" he said.

"Practice for what?" Being specific was not in his genes.

"I need some help with the karate center. I can hook you up with a job there and have one of my friends tutor you" he smiled. A long day was ahead of me, but video games were right in front of me. I was going to make the best of it, even if it meant having Marcus wake up furious. His games were going to be demolished, and I was going to enjoy it.
