"There," Islo murmured and removed the last stitch from my forehead. "All good again."
I turned my head to the side and looked out the window. Birds were flying around the garden, not a care in the world. The weather had been mild for the last week. A bit of rain, but that was to be expected now when winter was knocking at our door. The birds were all leaving now, flying down south and I wish I could just fly with them. Away from here.
Islo's lips landed on my cheek, and I turned my head back towards him. He smiled as I leaned in and kissed him back.
"Would you like to go outside today?" he asked.
I shook my head and pulled him into bed with me, kissing his throat.
"Quinn, maybe we shouldn't..."
I hushed him and unbuttoned his shirt. He sighed and sat up on his knees, taking care of his shirt and threw it aside. He returned to lie down on top of me, keeping his weight off me with his arms.
"You feeling okay?" he asked as he pulled my night shirt off me.
"Yeah," I breathed and ran my hands over his body, getting so ready to just get completely lost in him.
He was covered in freckles, and it made his light brown skin look even darker than mine. But he wasn't, it was all the freckles. And it was ridiculously cute. I wanted to kiss every single freckle on his body.
I also wanted to kiss his hair. I could go on forever about it. It was dark brown. And it was so soft and wavy. He had bright green eyes, and I couldn't understand why I had never truly looked at him before when I was looking at him now. He was the sort of pretty that went unnoticed way too often.
"Are you sure?" he asked as his hands ran down my thighs.
"You really wanna have a heart-to-heart right now?" I arched a brow at him.
"Quinn, I know I said I was just in this to get off but..." He hesitated and took a deep breath. He sat up on his knees again and ran his hand through his hair. "I'm worried about you. Don't ask me why, because I don't know. I just am. You're a very loveable person. So yeah, I'm worried."
I sighed deeply. "I'm fine. And horny. So, can we get on with it?"
He frowned down at me. "Two weeks ago you told me he hurt you, and this is what you wanna do?"
I groaned loudly and slapped my arm over my face. "I'm not some traumatised victim. He just beats me. Who cares."
"And yet you banged your face into a mirror and said you didn't want to live anymore."
"Yeah, that was right after. I was sad. I'm over it now, okay?" I removed my arm and looked back up at him.
"I just don't wanna hurt you," he said very seriously. "I don't wanna take advantage of you."
