__A few days have passed since Jaemin was informed about the answer they received from the kingdom of Nora.
They agreed to their condition to have the meeting in their castle and were now talking about the day it could take place.
The prince was more than happy when he also found out that Nora agreed to the contemporary halt of the war until the meeting and that the chance of it coming to a final end is getting higher and higher with every letter that's sent.Growing up, he sometimes went with his mother and father when they visited their villages. The war has caused so many losses and with each face he saw as someone was told that one of their loved one has died in it, he came to realize it more.
He realized that the war needed to stop, no matter the costs.
-
„The meeting will take place this Wednesday morning."
The silence was broken by his fathers words as they sat at the dining table to eat breakfast.
Jaemins movements halted. He was about to cut the french toast on his plate but directed all of his attention to his father.
„In two days?", he asked surprised. „Will that be enough time to prepare?"
„About that", the king rested his hands on the table and turned his gaze to his son, „I was wondering if you would like to help your mother with the preparations."
A smile slowly formed on the princes lips. "Of course, father. It would be an honor."
His father nodded as he proceeded to eat his breakfast with a smile. He was never really one to trust Jaemin with orders and the prince was more than happy that he did so now.
He had always wanted to make him proud.-
Time is fast when you are busy.
Jaemins' time was passing too fast for his own liking as preparing the meeting turned out to be a harder task than he imagined it to be.
His mother wanted everything to be perfect.
He had always admired her for her ambition, he always did, but whenever he got involved in her trying to make everything to her liking it became stressful. There was no room for compliments or acknowledgment for her. Critique and "proposals for improvement" were about the only thing that left her lips.
So he could never make choices on his own as he was preparing the meeting, leading to even more wasted time. But when they finally did it, it really turned out perfect.
They had thought about everything they had to think about. But his father made it his job to think about the precautions if something were to go wrong and it got violent.
Everything was prepared for the meeting.-
As the day of the meeting arrived, there was an unusual silence during the royal familys' breakfast. Jaemin decided not to say anything about the way his parents seemed to be avoiding each other and him. He thought it was due to their nervousness because of the meeting.
Rather than feeling nervous the prince was confident.
He was confident in his father to make the pain of his kingdom stop by making the right decisions. Confident in himself to do anything to help him achieve this goal and confident in their neighboring kingdom to have the heart to do so too. After the awkward breakfast Jaemin went into his chambers and changed into the clothes his mother had personally laid out for him.
Additionally, he wore rings with jewels the colors of the kingdom of Nora and Fores, green and blue. It was barely noticeable but the intention was to send a signal of unity and peace.
He glanced one last time into his mirror and decided that this day would be a successful one.
And so he headed to the big hall the castle had for occasional parties or cases like this: very important events.
